I just recently paid a visit to the LV store in new york and the SA was very nice. However, I felt as if she was trying to get information out of me as to whether I not I really have a LV bag. She wanted to know what type of bag I had and the color.

I wasn't dressed up, and I had on a pair of sneakers.

Does the SA have long black hair, and medium height? LV doesn't have a lot of SA in that store.

My goodness, beljwl, I can't believe how they treated you! Thanks everyone, for all the support. I am going to stop by the recently remodeled LV "store" at Bloomingdale's after work today to take another look.

I am still debating about waiting until August -- especially if a new model is coming out! But I am sooooo itchy to get my new bag, LOL!

She could have been trying to determine what bag might suit you

but

if not perhaps they should have got you to fill out a questionnaire and make a copy of your last 3 bank statements to see if you are worthy to be served in their temple of LV.

Sorry, psyching you out - that's also unacceptable.

I used to work in an Haute Couture house as a Saturday girl.

So exclusive the customer had to book an appointment or ring the bell to be allowed in

That said we did have customers ring the bell and 'nosey' round (no price tickets there) but I don't ever remember someone being 'frozen' out the shop.

LV bags cost thousands of dollars - good manners cost nothing.

I am sorry that this happened to you.

It seems that lately these type of stories seem to be popping up on this board more frequently. What is up with these horrible SAs?

Miumiu, I'm in NYC too. Did the SA happen to be an older Asian lady with short hair? The last time I was there she was giving someone trouble about exchanging a Trevi GM. However, the SA who was assisting me was a pleasure. She even gave me a box and dust bag for my agenda I had at home.

I personally would of complained to her superior on the spot. Her attitude was not called for.

I hope you get your Trevi, its a great bag. If you're going to get it this Saturday, I could ask my friend Alonso to help you. He works at the boutique in Macys at Herald Square.

^^ Yes! She was! Crazy.

Although, I think I may be giving off weirdo vibes or maybe SAs in luxe stores are having a bad week. I just stopped by Barneys on my walk back uptown (decided to take a look at the other contender -- a Balenciaga) and the SA was rude to me, too! She looked peeved because a big group of what seemed to be tourists were picking up bags and posing with them, but that's not my fault. She was very snooty and unfriendly, and kept "fixing" the disturbed bags even though I was asking her questions about when the proper Fall Bal collection colors come in. She said she didn't know, and that she had no idea what colors were coming in. She would barely look at me and waved me off with her hand!

Wow. I think I am actually going to call Barneys about this one. Twice in one week is too much. I hope they are not treating tourists like that, so much for NY hospitality!

You poor thing! I'm so sorry for your bad experiences this week. If we are talking about the same LV SA, that would be hillarious. I don't know the nature of the exchange but I couldn't help but be nosey and I didn't like what I saw. I felt sorry for the girl. She even asked to speak with the manager and the SA didn't even want to get the manager. She didn't seem nice!

Perhaps write a letter to the manager with a full description of the SA and the date of your incident. Also cc: LV headquarters.

Bloomies in NYC is definitely one of the best LV in NYC in terms of customer service.

This has never directly happened to me with such rude service. But many times i get ignored and when i do make a purchase it irritates me that part of the cost goes to their commission, disgusting.
