Default LV outlet in FL??

I have recently joined this forum, so I do not know if this question has come up previously, but anyone's help would be appreciated.

I have been purchased LV products and Chanel products from the actual boutiques for years, and would never think of purchasing elsewhere due to the fear of purchasing a fake.

Well, my mother told me that her friend purchases LV and Chanel from an OFF 5th store in Estero, Floridia....and I agrued that LV wouldn't let their brand go down like that. I always thought that if LV had defects, they were destroyed or if the purse or such was not a good seller, it would stay in the system until it was bought out. My mother's friend argued that her purchases are real and that since she has had them repaired before at both LV and Chanel, that her purchases must be real.

So does anyone know of LV or Chanel actually having an outlet or a discount sale at this mall? If my mother's friend is correct, I would think twice about purchasing thousands of dollars in purses and such from these companies, knowing that they would reduce their good names to discount sales and outlets...I wouldn't want to spend my money on something that can be purchased like a Coach bag (no offense, but they do have many outlets and drastically lower prices in the those outlets).

So any knowledge is appreciated!!!

Chanel also has sales - LV does not has any kind of sales/discounts (except for employees discounts).

Wow, Chanel has an Outlet?! No way. Just when I found out that Chanel goes on sale with xx% off discounts at Neimans/Bloomies, wherever, they have an Outlet too? OMG MUST FIND!

But back on topic, no. Louis Vuitton will never, ever, ever go on sale. Never. So no LV outlets. Sorry.

No, LV does not go on sale or go to any sort of outlet. The Owner/CEO is quoted as saying "we would rather have our bag sent back to us after so many seasons of not being sold, and be burned"

Thank You!!!!!....My mother's friend says she is going to provide me with a receipt...which I believe is bogus.....I have seen some of Chanel's items on BlueFly and Chanel going on sale (only seasonal items, like with fur and feathers) going on sale but never, ever LV!!!!....I just need some reassurance from fellow LV lovers!!!!

I also found out there's one in Beverly Hills, CA too. at Rodeo Drive. OMG. I have to go there someday. That's just awesome. I wish I lived in the L.A. area. This is great considering the prices for Chanels these days are ridiculous. Thanks so much.

LV only sells from LV boutiques, eLUXURY, and their own website. Nothing ever goes on sale. I think it is part of their philosophy/marketing plan that you can purchase a bag when you want without concern that it will go on sale at a later time.

This is from wikipedia: "The company only markets its product through its own stores throughout the world, which allows it to control product quality and pricing, and to prevent counterfeit products entering its distribution channels. Also Louis Vuitton has no sales or any duty-free stores."

How old is the LV stuff that she claimed to have bought at Saks Off 5th? I remember my grandma telling me a similar story. In the early/mid-90s, before the worldwide surge of their popularity, LV wasn't a lease department inside Saks (or any department store). The LV merchandise was bought from LV by Saks and Saks employees that worked the counter were Saks employed, not LV. Some of the unsold merchandise did go to Off 5th locations. My grandma has an LV authentic wallet with a gold Saks stamp that she purchased from an Off 5th outlet. She still has the dot-matrix printed receipt, which she keeps inside the wallet when she doesn't use it. At that time it only cost her $205 with tax and its dated 1995. (I wasn't old enough to have experienced any of this, but I wish I was.)

She thinks that this practice stopped in 1998, when LV became more protective of their merchandise because of the surge of sales in the Asian market and worldwide and the beginning of serious counterfeitting. LV changed it so that all of their department store locations were turned into lease departments. The practice of sending LV to department store clearance stores stopped.

LV does not discount(except for SA's) or have outlets.....although price adjustments are almost always increases, there are a few times when LV has actually decreased an items price. ive only seen it happen like twice
