I know what you mean. I think these people probably have good intentions when they start there and then they just become mean and rude because they are unhappy with their lives and their jobs. LV employees don't make commission so you really wouldn't be getting back at them by shopping at another store but if you do buy from another store you should consider writing a letter to the original store and tell them why you decided to buy from somewhere else.

ok let me tell you about the one at riverside. I along with at least 4 other people separate filed complaints about a particular manager there and as far as i know nothing was done. he yells at women and breaks policy with LV to the detriment of customers just because he is lazy. but he is still a manager he is still a jerk. that said, i have generally had positive experiences at 57th street, although we were there Saturday and the SA we dealt with was totally indifferent to me and my partner even though i was wearing LV and had just come from shopping at hermes so i had my Hermes shopping bag. |

Nice folk at the boutique in the Westchester Mall in White Plains. If they are so nasty at your local boutique, use them for trying to decide the bag you want and order online so they don't get the sale.

I am lucky to never had a bad experience with LV SA's (knock on the wood
) alltought sometimes especially at my home store (helsinki, finland) when i go to the store they are ignoring me (but thats probably 'cause im 17) but when i ask for service they r nice and helpful :) I have had nice SA's in many country where ive visited LV. Actually in Barcelona the LV SAs were almost only ones who were friendly and sweet, at the YSL, Burberry, El corte de ingles etc. and all the cheaper stores like zara, lacoste, nike etc. we got horrible service :( Lets hope that next time u visit LV they are nice and u get good shopping experience

I've had usually pleasant experiences with the LV boutique in the Riverside Square mall. I've only been to the Garden State Plaza LV once and this asian woman SA (I think she was the only asian one there that day) was sooo snooty. I asked to see the Galliera GM bag. I had to say it a couple of times because she somehow could not understand me. I grew up in the USA and speak perfect English. She had a heavy accent. When she realized I was talking about the Galliera, she corrected me by saying, "Oh. YOu mean the GAAAH-Leera." As if I said it wrong the first 3 times. Ok. So I am not french and I did not emphasize the "aaaah" part, but it was pretty obvious which bag I meant. She was being totally ridiculous by trying to correct my pronunciation rather than hurrying along and getting me the bag that I had asked for. So I responded, "Yeah. Whatever."
I tried it on and then gave it back to her. And before allowing me to see another bag, she just walk away without a word. Disgraceful. I will NEVER step foot in that LV again. If only she knew how manys bags I actually buy yearly, she would be sobbing by now. I really dont know how people like that even survive as an SA. PS, I usually like to walk into LV with my Chanel purse so as to minimize the BS that they normally give to the potential clients. I think it does help. It is as if they treat you more seriously. |

.wysiwyg { BACKGROUND: #fafafa; FONT: 10pt verdana, geneva, lucida, 'lucida grande', arial, helvetica, sans-serif; COLOR: #000000 } P { MARGIN: 0px } .inlineimg { VERTICAL-ALIGN: middle } I'm a newbie here and I haven't yet bought a premier designer bag (just going through the process of looking right now) but I have been on the other side - in customer service, assisting customers of premium products. And there's no excuse for truly rude behavior from someone in customer service, such as ignoring a person asking for assistance with the products. Even if the assistant is busy they can take the moment to say they'll help as soon as they can. But that goes for customers too, like ones who come in and ask questions while they are on their cell engaged in a heated call, and who then proceed to ignore the answers. And it can be really very frustrating when customers expect perfect service every time. Even the very best in customer service make mistakes, and most are usually quite small. When a customer blows up over a very small thing - such a having to wait five minutes while their order is processed - it's just plain rude. The people at the SA level do not have control over prices, the time it takes for cards to go through, the length of the line, or even how many people are scheduled on a particular shift. They can't lower your sales tax and it's not their fault if you ordered the wrong thing. But some customers will get mad at customer service because of these things, which again, is usually out of the assistant's hands.
Premium service customers often expect service to be premium because of the price they are paying. But the price you're paying doesn't go into the SA's. It goes to the company. Those in customer service make only a tiny portion of the money that luxury companies make. It's not their fault if an order was delayed or if a shipment is lost. A good customer service agent will be helpful in these situations, but if they've had a day or week of such behaviour from customers, they may be a bit more "helpful and civil" than "helpful and kind". They don't want to be fired, and justifiably angry customers = firing. But a customer who's angry at a helpful, civil And it's almost always rude to treat those in customer service like they are your own personal shopper and always rude to demand things out of their control (the earlier post about helping a woman who was being treated badly is the exception) I'd bet some would love feedback on how they are doing - however, this should not be done while in the store, but by sending a letter to the store/service addressing the problem, such as a lack of SA's at busy times or lack of training before a SA hits the floor. That said, I haven't been to an LV store yet because of the stories I've been reading around here. I wear mid-priced clothes most of the time, but it still seems so scary! I could order online, but I want to see the product beforehand in person! |

Personally, I really think it depends on the SA you are dealing with and obviously the location. There are a couple lv boutiques in my city and I leave with different experiences each and every one of them. You just gotta shop around and see what store and or SA is best for you, just be patient though, there are some pretty awesome ones out there!

Wow omg same here, usually I hear good things about the boutique near me but when I go I am also ignored because I am 16 (young) but to make it worse sometimes I am mistaked for 12(aggg even worse) ![]() Miraculously most SA's put on a different face when I say the magic words "I'll take this one", and suddenly do all in their power to help me when I don't need help. sigh.....

I think I've had my fair share of nice and mean SAs. Whenever I do encounter a mean SA I start thinking of how awful her life must be selling bags that cost as much as her salary and people are buying in multiple quantities of them. I know, sad but makes me happier.
