Whilst I understand where you are coming from, I also work in retail so I can see where the SA was coming from. She sees a spot and small bits of glitter in the bag so it's easy to presume the bag could have been used, even if it was for the evening and you were trying to return the following day. Obviously this is not your case but it does happen a lot in luxury retail, believe me!

The SA was simply using her judgement as without sounding harsh but plenty of customers will lie to get what they want, and if the SA did take it back in a used condition (again, not saying you did use it) the SA could face disciplinary action for taking back used goods which effectively means the customer cannot sell the product and have to write it off, thus losing money.
