Yep, completely true........they also are supposed to take off all the stickers as well because supposedly over time, the "glue" material can stick to the hardware when they DO need to take it off.

I agree, just inspect it carefully.

I got my Palermo GM a few weeks ago, and the SA brought one out that had CLEARLY been carried....it had dirt marks on the handles and scuffs on the exterior heat stamp.

I politely asked for another.

This will be my next purchase. Do you get a box for the bag? I was thinking that it would be nice to have a box to store in my closet.

Did you get an attitude? I saw at the boutique that a face was made by the SA behind the purchaser's face.

I didn't *feel* like I was...I really did try to be extremely polite about it, and showed her why (it was clear as day, those markings)......but I'm sure comments were probably made when I left. Oh well.

So, only the factory puts the plastic on the handles? They cannot/do not replace the plastic on a returned bag in the boutique? If a bag is a return, at the boutique they will not put stickers back on the feet/hardware etc?

If I just make sure that I get a bag with plastic and stickers on it, it will be brand new? (Or worst case, it might have been sold before, but the customer returned without removing packaging...)??????

^ yes. Even with the plastic coverings, it may have still been bought and then returned to the store. Although, according to some pp the SAs are told to remove all plastic covering now?

The SAas are told to remove all plastic, stickers and so on before presenting and selling a bag. However, if they know the client likes all the wrapping to be on, they sometimes ease up on this rule.

Once the plastic coverings and stickers are off.....they are OFF, it is not possible to put them back on because the stickers are not actually "sticky" they are put on the hardware with heat to get them to temporarily "stick"

Yes - I got a box, complete with bow . However, there are several threads that advise not to store the purse in the box - just in the dustcover.

Buyer beware. Just inspect the bag and if you're happy about it and the bag is singing to you, just go for it!

My SA knows I like everything new, so when I purchase a bag they know to leave the plastic and stickers on.

Yes, just ask the SA to leave all the plastic and stickers on the bag for your assurance. They'll understand.

I purchased a bag from LV.com few days ago and I got an used one. There are scratches on the bag and I have to return it by Fedex. So I guess it's true that even you order from the warehouse, you still have a chance to get an used bag.

I called the LV number to return the bag and one of the customer representative told me if I decided to exchange the bag instead of asking for refund, she can help me put a note asking the warehouse to leave all the plastic wrap on the bag to ensure it's a brand new bag.

However, when I called back to place my order today, another customer representative refused to do so.

So I guess the best way to get a new bag is to find a SA that's willing to help you to find a bag with all the original plastic wrap on it.
