I don't understand why they are so rude, I called my local store today and the SA I spoke with was so nasty. Unbelieveable

It seems like the service is getting worse and worse. This is the 2nd unpleasant experience I have had at the Rodeo location in the last few weeks.

About a week ago I was in there with a fellow TPF'er. I had a shawl with me, I had bought a while ago. I had it with me to show my friend. She was thinking about buying it. It was totally brand new and unused. So I was showing it to her while we were in the store. She decided it was not her style and she did not want to buy it. The SA said that she might be able to exchange it for me for something else. She needed to check with the manager. I gave her the receipt and the shawl and she took it to the back to the manager. A few minutes later she came back and said no problem the manager approved the exchange and I could pick out something else. I was SOOOOOOO HAPPY. I picked out the rose pop ZCP for the exchange. She went to ring up my exchange and my friends purchase. A bag, a bag charm and a wallet. Then the manager that agreed to the exchange came out from the back and she said she changed her mind and that she is no longer going to do the exchange since the purchase was over 30 days ago. She would not budge.

I would have been totally fine if I was told originally that it had been too long. I am fine with the rules. I did not bring the shawl in with me to exchange it. I brought it to show my friend and the opportunity came up.

Don't tell someone something and then change your mind after. That is WRONG.
So sad, isn't it? But, most of our experiences at Rodeo have been positive. Mostly. I'm still looking forward to the trunk show this week.

thats so horrible to be treated that way....i wish you all could shop at the boutique here...we have the most wonderful SA's.....they really need to setup some kind of demerit system so there is incentive to be a pleasant SA...

Thats weird maybe certain LV's are stricter about the no touch policy? I touch a lot at my local boutique and the SA's don't really seem to mind.

Sorry about the bad experience! i know certain SA's are terrible! why would he be giving you ladies looks???

I think the best way to deal with this problem is to walk out (like you did) and buy what you want somewhere else. Pretty soon corporate will take notice if certain stores & SAs are under-performing, especially if the company as a whole is struggling in the US.

I totally agree with this post. There are SO many stories of atrocious service at numerous LV boutiques. As much as we all love LV, this is the best way to be heard. Eventually, LV will notice and change their ways.

I have a sweet SA she is an older asian lady. She speaks English and I believe chinese ( I cannot speak the language so I do not know) She hugs me and my mom when she sees me. Always invites me to events and remembers what I have and like. LV has even sent her to Paris for workshops etc. She is at a Saks location which means you can use all charge cards plus Saks. Her name is Dorothy at Saks in Troy MIchigan (Somerset) Call her

sorry to hear this happened. I just really don't understand the reasons behind the nastiness. it's just common sense to treat CUSTOMERS with respect and kindness.

Even with security guards, LV still has theft in their stores. Rudeness is never excusable, but I understand exactly why they do not want customers handling goods unsupervised. Someone could just bolt for the door (and if physically detained, the thief could sue LVMH) or someone could switch an item on a shelf with a fake or used good.

I refuse to shop at my local location, where a SA told me that I should just look/shop via the website because I went in to buy a pochette extender (a small sale).

I'm a little confused. If they don't want you to touch anything, why don't they just put everything behind glass as in a jewelry store? I've only been in one LV store ( KOP), and they weren't overly friendly at all. I just walked through and looked at things at a distance, so I don't know how they would have been to work with, but I didn't get the impression that they would go out of their way for a customer. We now have an LV boutique near me, it just opened. I haven't been there yet, but I'm a little nervous after hearing about the rudeness of a lot of the SA's. So far, all of my purchases have been from e-lux and louisvuitton.com, I hope the boutique experience doesn't turn me off.

KOP now has a bad rep for really bad customer service problems. I have had a few bag experiences there. So have my friends that work next door at NM and others in the mall. I have spoken to the manager , she doesnt seem to care. It used to be a great store . I shop at Saks or Short hills or Paramus. My fiance buys a lot of my bags and he just bought me 2 bags, but he wouldnt go to KOP because they treated him very rude. Oh well, they lost buisness.

Why do SA's think it is ok to treat customers this way? I think someone should ask one of them next time they are rude because I would really like to know why they think it is acceptable. Just come right out and ask - I would love to hear their answer.

Why can't people just be nice - why is that so hard?????

I have talked to former LV sa's. They work for other brands now. Most said they hated it. They knew that, so they didnt have to be nice people would buy anyway. Some dont like their jobs. It is retail after all. I know what that is like, but I love the field I am in and have a passion for it. To many , its just a clerking job, that happens to be for a high end brand. My fave LV Sa once told me, when I told him about LV's bad rep, he said its mostly mall jumpers who go from store to store. Its like working in any other mall store, just the product is more $$$$. We expect the service, but really they only pay about 12 bucks , so the quality of help isnt there.
