I recently found a new store and a new SA who do not charge me for tax. I'm located in CA, there are many LV store in CA, but still they didn't charge me tax. I saved a good 9.25% on my $2700 purchase (almost $250). If anyone wants my SA's contact info, feel free to PM me. Shipping was like $10 to $15 I believed.

I didn't buy from any of the CA stores. I meant even tho there are LV stores in CA, but the store I bought from did not charge me tax. Usually, if they have LV store in your state, then they will charge you tax.

If you bought from a CA and it was shipped to a CA address and you were not charged tax, it was a mistake by the SA. Don't count on this happening all the time.

Like I said, I didn't buy it from a CA store. I know they will charge tax if I buy from a CA store.

From my understanding is either i buy it from CA store or stores that located outside of CA, I will be charged tax if there is LV store in CA. My point is even tho there are many LV stores in CA, the out of state store I purchased from did not charge me tax. Sorry for the confusion...

I think the TPFer is saying that the item was ordered from an another LV boutique outside CA even though there are LVs in CA. Which is similar perhaps to the Saks LV charge-send a few tpfers have discussed here who also were not charged tax.

Yes, thats the correct sales tax rule - if you have a boutique in your state you will be charged sales tax even though it is shipped/bought out of state. I'm not sure how Saks gets around this rule though. I think it may have something to do with state registration or Saks with LV registration. Oh well, lucky for you!
