I usually get ignored in the LV boutique in the Galleria. But that might be because I look young for my age, I still get mistaken for a teenager. (Although I do think med school has aged me, so probably not anymore .) I've only bought one of my LVs at the boutique, though. My Mini-Looping Purse.

Even when I bring an LV into the LV store I still get ignored! What's up w/ that? I went w/ my bf this weekend to look at the zippy coin purse I've been craving and I stood at the counter waiting for someone to help me and no one did, so I just left. If I want to see something I actually have to FIND an SA to help me. It's very annoying and when I finally got an SA, she didn't know anything! She's like I don't know what you're talking about and she had to go ask another SA. . That's very frustrating since I don't have much spare time to go shopping. I always feel guilty when I do anything that takes up studying time (esp when I'm close to exams).

I think the sum total of those experiences made me not shop at LV for 3 years, but then I discovered the SAs at Nordstrom's LV boutique! They are sooooo much nicer! So this year when my love for LV got really rekindled, I made all my purchases there. . I think the smaller LV boutiques in dept. stores might be nicer, mainly because if there's a larger boutique nearby they probably need to compete. Now if only I could finally get out of school so I can buy all the purses and accessories I really want!

I have always had nice SAs - I am very often in the LV stores in Paris , but I HATE the client-service, I mean the phonenumber you call to get information if a bag is still in stock.
Always when I called there is a man who is so rude and impolite. He shouts everytime ..

I don't have a boutique anywhere close to where I live, and I often wish I did so I could see the bags in person before I buy. Wow! After hearing all this drama about the snobby SA's with attitude, I feel a lot better about having to just browse and click to get my bags from eLux. The boutique experience sounds really great, and I'd love to try the bags on, but what's up with the nasty salespeople? When I'm spending my money, no matter what the item costs, I don't expect to have to grovel to get waited on. Why be in that line of work if you don't like people?

Well, if you are getting bad service or being ignored I think you should speak up. The squeaky wheel gets the grease, they say. I think it's less important what bag you wear into the boutique and more important to have a relationship with or at least be known to a salesperson in that store. Of course they will go up to the customer they already know and maybe have even sold things too. Wouldn't you rather approach someone you know than someone you don't? But if you are truly being ignored you have to be assertive and just go up to someone and tell them what you want.

Why are people in retail if they don't like people? Maybe it's the only job they can get or they've been doing it a long time and are burned out. The job market isn't exactly peachy these days especially for unskilled jobs like retail. Plus, almost any job you have to deal with people, maybe not the public but other coworkers anyway. I guess if they can get away with their behavior they will continue it.

I really do not think that it is race specific. Do not blame your ethnicity on the quality of service that just seems silly. The world is a big melting pot and we are all different races and from different cultures. When I receive bad service I do not assume that it has to do with my race or appearance...I figure it is a reflection of the individuals state...I figure that they are not happy with themselves or their job ect...do not take it personally if someone is a jerk...it is their problem not yours...seek out a nicer SA to do business with...GL

i was at the Champs Elysee store back on Aug 22 during my honeymoon in Paris. Wifey and i were with backpacks on us and she did have her neutral patented leather clutch with her and pretty much was ignored. Both of us are vietnamese and all of the asian SAs there looked at us and looked away. 2 males on different occasions did come up and asked if we needed help.

I do believe asians to discriminate against other asians. Happens all the time, and i tend to do it myself when in the gym working out.

The SAs at the Dallas Galleria LV boutique usually aren't as friendly. The first time I went in, noone said anything to me. I especially remembered the male SA who tried to look busy. So I went over to Saks and bought my agenda. Then I went back to the boutique b/c Saks didn't have the carryall. This time a female SA helped me with while the male SA who didn't help me watched her ring up my purchase! Ha!

I guess it depends on the SA...if they're feeling lazy that day or not.

It's funny; we're in the store b/c we have money to spend while the SAs are there working for money but yet they treat us like we don't exist. Reminds me of Pretty Woman.

I think SAs in dept stores are friendlier usually than the ones in stand alone stores. They know you can complain to the dept store's manager and higher ups if there is a problem and that LV can get into trouble b/c it reflects badly on that whole dept store. Stand alone stores don't have another entity over them so I think they are less service oriented.

No complaints about the SAs in Malaysia and Singapore, however, we met a very rude SA in Mall of Emirates Dubai - on that same day, a group of thai tourists shopping at the same time as us also complained about the SA to the store Manager. However, I had impeccable service at the LV in Burjuman.

I have witness rude service at the LV location in Boca Raton I am a woman of color, and was with my girlfriend on a business trip, and she wanted to buy her 1st Lv bag. She didn't have any knowlege about the various bags, and the SA was asking her questions like " do you know where the date stamp is? do you know where LV's are made? " yada, yada, yada. I was so angry I decided to step in and answer all of the SA stupid ass questions for my friend. She did walk out with a bag that was exclusive to the Boca Raton area, however, I wouldn't have purchased nothing from that cow!! I only purchase my bags from the LV location in the Beverly Center Mall in Beverly Hills, where the SA's are nice

I'm Asian.. and that happens to me too. But mostly non-high end designer brands though (like bebe, Guess, etc). While they all say "hi" and "how can I help you?" to non-Asians, they dont say a single word to me when I walk in. And when I buy something and the cashier asks me "Who helped you today?" and I say "NOONE" and she pretends to be sorry.. Whatever, I dont care though.

I feel for you. I can't stand SAs who discriminate against their customers, be it in terms of ethnicity or how they dress. I was in a crowded LV boutique once, and there were about 4 SAs standing around and talking to each other/bitching about the customers instead of helping them

In my experience of shopping at LV though, I have always been the one approaching the SA instead of the other way round. Seems quite common around here..
