Hi. So, I'm going tomorrow to get my first LV. I am getting it from the Bloomingdales in NYC (I have $800 in gift cards to Bloomies). They had to hunt down a Manhattan PM for me, and they got it in. I am going to look around before I take the plunge on the PM, but I definitely think it is the one.

How do I make sure that the bag is perfect? Do they sell the display bags to customers? I don't want a display!

Ask for a bag from their inventory/back room. Once they bring it to you, inspect it like there's no tomorrow! :) Also, don't forget to ask for a box! Good luck!

definitely ask to see whatever they bring out for you
when I got my Palermo they got me a new one from the back but didn't offer to show me it and I completely forgot from being too excited about it and when i finally realised that I should check it half an hour later turns out there was some glue stains on the strap so I had to go back to exchange for another one!

In France they neither sell you a dispaly bag, unless the bag is out of stock.
But in this case they inform you and it will be notifed on your invoice.
(I think most of the displays bags are sales to the employees for the privates sales...)

If you want a box, just ask a gift package.
