Default Elux finally got me too...

It was just a matter of time I guess. I've been shopping with them for several years now and never had an issue till today. I received my box just before leaving the house and had a funny feeling about this one. Opened the box and there it was a "used" bag . There was such a thick layer of dust on it I had to laugh...nervous laugh I'm sure. My mom immediately said to me "check the date code, it looks old" lol. It was from the 9th. week of 2007. I started to look closer and there was a white mark on the corner which anyone who has epi knows what that is. I immediately packed it up (dust included) and brought it to work with me. Called in for an exchange. I laughed and told the woman on the phone that if I wanted an old used bag I'd get one on eBay and for alot cheaper. She actually laughed as well. She said she'd check the stock and make sure that if they do an exchange it would be a pristine one.....Lets see how long & what happens.....

I felt so bad for you. All these stories about getting used bags from eLux that's why I don't order from them. Not even to save on tax because it's just too much trouble doing a return and they'd even blame you for returning a used bag.

Here's my hugs for you! I hoped everything works out for you and BTW, what bag did you ordered?

A similar thing just happened to me, too. I previously ordered from them and had no problems, but they sent what looked to me was a used and slightly defective epi bag. The interior was what got me--it looked like someone had reached in there with a powdered hand, because there were a few light-colored smudges in there. Plus the lining wasn't sewn well and there what seemed to be an unusual amount of excess fabric in there. I could have had an exchange, but I opted for a refund instead. I documented what I saw on my receipt, returned it the very same day, and the refund went through after about a week. eLux handled it pretty well.

About the date code, even if it's an older code, it doesn't automatically mean that the bag was a return. In my case, I ordered the bag from eLux because my local LV was out of stock. After I returned the Elux bag, my store got a new one in; I was assured that it was not a return. I went to inspect it, and it was perfect. The dust bag still had the bar code hanging from it (which the SA promptly removed). However, the date code shows that my bag was made in early 2007 sometime! I'm telling myself that it somehow escaped being shipped out from France until recently.

Better luck with your replacement bag!

I know the date code doesn't have anything to do with it being used but the white mark on the corner is definately a sign. But to be honest I would prefer a newer bag than one thats over a year old kwim?
What about the dust...you'd think they would keep it in a box or bag or something. It was so heavy on there they must of pulled it from a shelf and threw it in the bag. I have no idea what to expect anymore. I'm not going to sweat it though. It would have been nice to beat the price increase but I'm not going to let this bug me too much. We'll see what happens. ahh..They just called me while I was typing this and she said they have 3 in stock and the person in charge said the one being sent out is perfect as they inspected it themselves...so that sounds like good news already.

Aww..don't feel bad. lol It will all work out in the end. I already returned it so they can't say I used it. Funny thing is that I read those stories all the time and it's never happened to me. Everything was always perfect. I'm sort of glad that I did read them cause I may have kept it. But it looks like they're going to send me a nicer one out so alls well that ends well Thanks for your concern though, very sweet.

Yes, I understand what you mean. I'm determined not to let the relative oldness of my new epi bag get to me, though.

Perhaps you misunderstood me, I truly sympathize because I went through a similar thing myself with an eLux bag. I didn't mean to imply that you're being at all unreasonable in returning your bag. The dust and the white mark are simply unacceptable!

Glad to read that they are going to lengths to ensure that the replacement is perfect! They offered no such assurances to me, which is why I opted for the refund instead of the replacement. Maybe they've finally figured out that they do need to inspect them before simply shipping them out. Good luck!

The girl (Erin) was actually really nice. She called me twice today. Once after I got the return # to let me know they were checking the stock. And then a little while ago. I didn't misunderstand you. I didn't take it that you thought I was being unreasonable. I wasn't..lol. It looked like a dusty old bag..why in Gods name would I keep it? For my mom to say it looked old definitely says something. Thats coming from a 69 year old woman

I think I spoke with Erin, too. She is very nice, and so was everyone else I spoke with at eLux. Glad it's going to work out for you.
