Default Dumb question

We all know that buying and selling counterfeits are illegal, right? So why are there sooooo many sites that blatantly sell "replicas"? I just googled a discontinued item to see if I could find the original retail price, and I was shocked by the pages and pages of "replica" sites! Is there some legal loophole that allows these sites to keep operating?????

I've heard somewhere that selling is legal but buying isn't.

yea, distributing fakes are illegal, but processing are not.

well, i guess a lot people can't afford reals, but still want to "show off"?
it doesn't make any sense to me, but oh well...

we are not the ones buying them anyways

I think they just don't have the money to get a real one. It almost make me want to call fake-buyers "real fans", because they really like the bag itself and don't care is it real or not.
But there's just this one thing that this way they finance criminal activity and get poor bags what broke easily and they can't take them anywhere to get fixed like you could do with the real one.

Not all are 'real fans' as you said
I know a hand full of people who don't even know much about lv but wear fakes and rock the bags as if they were one of Vernilovers exotic bags.

Personally I'd never carry a fake.

But there are people, like said above, who don't have enough money but really like to have that bag...

I do not support anyone selling fakes - but there actually is a market; I think that's why many people are trying to sell fakes (even if they know that it is not legal...) just to make money.

i know a lot of people that go to turkey and india, they give them orders, these guys are good, down to lining and hardware, they say i can 10 bags to your 1, but i would rather have one, i think they can sell them because they are not lying to buyers, i did see a hermes, that i wanted, but fake was still 2000 bucks not cheap. alfie x

I would rather buy a Wal-Mart bag instead of a fake..and I don't even go to Wal-Mart.

Absolutely agree with that. No-brand-name bags are much better than fakes.
It's not only about copying other ideas - I would feel ashamed if someone sees me carring a fake...
