Price decreases could happen, retail as an industry is still being sucked dry and things aren't looking any better in the near future.

I personally am glad that LV does not have sales or markdowns.
It would literally make me ill to see one of my bags with a lower price.

using the Neverfull MM as an example: it's currently 445 euros, which at today's exchange rate is just under $700 Cdn & since you're not an EU resident, you would get the VAT refunded to you (19.6%, i think), so the bag would end up being somewhere around $600. Definitely worth it to take the trip to France to enjoy the sights & get your bag for cheaper!

I agree with you wholeheartedly. The day there is a dramatic price reduction, and I am not talking about currency adjustments, I will discontinue purchasing from Vuitton.

Actually if its listed at 445 Euros that price doesn't include tax, so in the end its going to be ~$700 CAD after the tax refund which means it isn't THAT much cheaper than buying it here I would assume?

And don't forget the drama you have to deal with with Canada Customs too - not worth just alone for that!

Well I think their should be major adjustments on some prices. Ysl, Prada and Gucci all do this and I do not think Louis Vuitton is any better. It is like everything. My Sergio Rossi's cost me 289 on sale but full price was 725. So I waited and gambled thats shopping.

hmmm, you're right! the VAT refund simply entails that i get back all the taxes paid, so i only end up paying 455 euros...which converts roughly to $700 CDN...is my logic correct?

damn, i was really hoping it'd be $600 i even went as far as to convince a colleague of mine that's going to paris in october to pick one up for me.

willstarveforLV: have you personally encountered difficulties at canada customs? i don't want to cause him any trouble :( since he's going for 3 weeks, i believe the max he can bring back is $750 CDN duty-free, and i don't know what else he plans on purchasing

damn, why didn't i think of this all beforehand?

you and huhwut just burst my happy lv bubble :(

HotCocoa: why did you have to play with my heart like that??? whyyyyyyyy?

i hear ya sister!! shopping is a gamble - that's why price protection on credit cards is so amazing!
