***Not soliciting, not advertising, I will not post the listing, where it's listed or ANY item specifics! Hope this is ok!***

I have a petit randonnee that is beautiful, and in great shape, but the vachetta at the base of the D ring just started to crack where it bends. I took it to LV, but because it is discontinued, it can't be fixed.

I was so afraid that the cracks would go through (making the bag worthless) that I wrapped some clear think pieces of tape around the cracks.

Do you think I'll still have a chance at selling it? I disclosed EVERYTHING in the listing, and reduced the price by $100. There was a watcher, but when I posted the new pictures and the info about the tape, they "unwatched" it.

Did I completely destroy it by putting some thin pieces of tape over the cracks? I don't know what else I could do, I really don't want someone to get it, crack them, and then do a chargeback or leave me negative feedback, you know?

I don't mind keeping it, but I never use it anymore, and would love to put the money towards something else.

WHat do you think?

I think it is definitely sell-able (lol) since it is an authentic LV and therefore will always have some sort of value, but I think it will have to be greatly discounted since it is a damaged bag in a non-popular style, so you have 2 things working against you here!! Good luck!

I think it's worth a try.. and since it's discontinued some people will be interested in it! you'd be surprised with what crazy things people buy

First of all, I can not understand why LV can't fix it. It's the strap for goodness sake!

Second, I would take the tape off. I saw your listing. It's great you have disclosed the crack. I surely would do the same. But, I think your over disclosing. (does that make sense?) Your bringing all the attention to the crack because of the tape. Buyers sometimes do not read everything. They look at the pictures first. When they see the tape, they may automatically turn away.

Also, the Randonnee is not a popular style. The price you have it started at for the flaw it has, I believe is unrealistic. You may get half to 3/4 as much.

They told me it's not fixable because the ONLY way to fix it would be to replace the strap, and that strap is not available.

The strap is rather long, I'm thinking about taking it to a repair place and seeing if they can cut out the cracked part and put the pieces back together.

I know I overdisclose, I ALWAYS overdisclose- I'm just so afraid that someone will buy something and then accuse me of not disclosing enough.

I tried to take the tape off today, and it looks like it's peeling off the vachetta....darn it! I think I"m just going to keep the darned thing!

Yay! The tape came right off- the cracks are still fine, just in that top layer of vachetta. So the tape is off, and my listing is revised. :)

Thank you for overdisclosing! It would be so nice if other resellers did this, then I could finally take a chance on Ebay.

I have not seen your listing, but I would definately add that "there isn't any reason that you couldn't take this gorgeous piece to a leather repair shop and get the repair done". Okay, I just checked it out. Your sell price is too high.
