If we could - I totally be whatever about giving a discount here and there....but for LV bags to go on sale? Eek... yeah not good... I'd quit the company...

I know you guys know a lot about LV - more so than most associates I've met, but yeah totally never ask about sales and discounts to a SA... some don't respond well to that - although they'll say it with a smile, but yeah I wouldn't go there...

A friend of mine got a 10% discount that she used at LV from someone who works at Bloomingdales - evidently Bloomingdales employees get a discount once a year or so that they can use on anything sold in the store.

Hey thats cool she saved 10% - I know we have customers ask that all the time, and we politely say "sorry, no.. we don't give discounts..."

I know Neiman Marcus associates can only get 3 LV bags per calendar year.... and that our manager rings them up... were very strict with that stuff.

When I used to work at Bloomingdale's several years ago, the discount was 20% off and I bought quite a few bags! Now, Bloomingdale's and Macy's have changed their policy and the discount is now 10%.

I think LV is changing the policy at major department stores like Bloomingdale's, Macy's, and Neiman Marcus recently because there is a rumor of a department store employee who created a fiasco and because of that, LV had to revise its discount value and quantity.

Thats so funny you say this cause I always wondered why for the Neiman's associate they went from 5 bags per calendar year to 3. Hmm yeah I totally believe you that there was probably a fiasco. I've had a lot of Neiman associates ask me about why they changed their discount policy, and I'm like "I'm not sure..."

Here's another situation we run in to - we get a lot of Neiman Marcus associates from other stores wanting our LV discount, and yeah in order for them to qualify - they physically have to work at that store.

Not really a DISCOUNT, but you can order off eluxury & if you don't live in a certain place like ca, then no tax. Also, if you buy something EXPENSIVE in a place with cheaper sales tax...but that's almost no difference.

Hey, I work at Macys and it's still 20%.

I always wondered though, if I could call up the Macys in NY and buy an LV there and use my employee discount that way....one day I will try.

You might want to check with your corporate office first. (Just in case). I know I refer Neiman Marcus associates to their corporate office in Dallas, and yeah cause we LV associates were advised only "home store" employees can get our discount, so yeah it maybe the same fate for guys...but then again I could be wrong... (I only know of the rules for Neiman associates.)

aww well there goes my plan, haha. But yeah I probably should ask first anyway. Wishful thinking.

But I guess in a way it makes sense, you don't want the whole lot of Macys/Bloomingdales workers rushing to buy tons of LV at discounted prices.

Well hey for sure it wouldn't hurt for you to ask, I mean - I'm totally not here to discourage you from asking at all...but it wouldn't hurt for you to hear it from them, you know?

HEY you should come work for LV then!!! =) That would solve everything! hehe...
