I never realised until I just read an article today that luxury goods in M'sia are tax free this would mean same as in KSA and UAE. I am new to this blog and when reading through the comments and feedback, quite a number of response do say M'sia would not be the place to buy LV am I correct. But I don't think Dubai is cheaper, though. Was thinking of the Whisper PM, if anybody knows of the price of this in M'sia and UK would appreciate hearing from you.

^^ I do not have the prices but Malaysia is definitely more expensive then UK, by about 20% in total (you have to also claim back your VAT in UK to realise the savings I mentioned). i think Malaysia is deemed to be tax free because there is no GST or VAT tax on your purchase but there is the "invisible" import or sales tax which are already in built into the price just like everything else. Luxury goods in Malaysia is definitely more expensive compared to Europe. you will save at least 15% to 20% there. In Paris you will save about 25% compared to Malaysian price. Hope this helps.

$1078 in France.
France will always be the cheapest place to buy LV (LVMH policy). Except for europeans, which can hardly get tax back in eu. |

I'm going to Paris and Germany this September, where do you think is the cheapest to buy LV after VAT refund. I'm thinking of getting the speedy 35 and the zippy wallet in monogram. |

i don't hawaii is the cheapest to buy an LV...yes, the sales tax is less, but the diff in price with the mainland is maybe 5-10%.
my friend bought for me a speedy 30 and a zippy wallet in London in Dec 2008 and i still have the paperwork: $565 for a speedy 30 total (i believe it was $600 before taxes in the US at that time). $471 for a zippy wallet total (it was $645 before taxes). so depending on the exchange rate and what EU country you buy it from, it's much cheaper in europe. my friend and i did the calculations before she went on her trip b/c she was visiting london (pound) and turkey (euro). |
