Cheapest place to buy LV definitely is France, out of all EU nations. I travel quite a bit, and I always ended up buying my LV bags in Paris. (Hello, bon marché & Avenue des Champs Elysées!! I miss you so!) LOL.
If you are a visitor and not holding EU passport, you can get a VAT refund. France: 12% Italy: 12.5% Germany: refund after 175 euro, about 12% VAT refund, more you spend, more refund % Netherland: 10% Austria: 12.375% above were in my LV-buying geeky database from couple years ago, don't know if % have been changed.

Below is the VAT chart to each country, and how much you'll save on buying stuff:

I am paying a visit early next month to Hong Kong and I am still confused if I will buy an LV or not. Kinda scared that I might be taxed when I get back here in the Philippines.
Anyone who can advise what should I do? I'm planning to buy at least 3 bags from Hong Kong. If I will be carrying all of them when I get back how will I declare it? Or not? |
