I'm from BC, and Alberta has not Provincial Sales Tax. Which in Canada varies from 7% to 7.5 %!

And I recently bought my first LV purse - and I only had to pay the 6% GST. So, it's quite a bit of savings.

In Ontario we pay 14% tax (6% GST and 8% PST)...

If buying a Mono Speedy 25 in Alberta, the cost after taxes = $683.70

If buying a Mono Speedy 25 in Ontario, the cost after taxes = $735.30

This is a difference of exactly $51.60 - Which is a small margin considering the total price of the bag (no point in moving to Alberta, if you're only reason is LV purchases )

8%????? wow....my dad practically lives in Toronto cuz he has soooooo many business trips there and he told me that it's the same as Quebec (7.5%PST).... I'm gonna check this out.

Also...I don't understand...If it's 8%, then the final price for the Speedy 25 (645$CAD) should be 738.40$CAD after tax. Not that there's much of a difference, but mathematically, it should be 645*1.06(GST)=683.7$ and THEN 683.7$*1.08(PST)..... I think you're just doing 645$*1.14=735.3$, but PST is ON TOP of GST.

Hey CEC, in Ontario that is how the tax works! It's 14% (PST & GST) on the price. It's not charging one then the other.. cuz if you do it the way you calculated, then really you're paying PST on a portion of the GST!!!

omg god!!! really?!??!?! well I guess your 8%PST somewhat makes up for our 7.5%PST!!! Cuz here in Quebec, we do it the way I mentioned it previously, ie GST first and THEN ON TOP OF GST, we add the PST!!!!

oh well.... Quebecers are getting a 0.32$ deal on Speedy 25 then! haha

...?
The actual price of the Speedy 25 is $645...so don't convert using the USD price on eLux.
Plus 6% tax, in Alberta, the Speedy comes to $683.70
