Yes, the oxidation process slows down when the bags are kept in their sleeper bags.

When the leather oxidizes, it means the bag is NOT a fake because they have even colored leather handles.

Actually, high quality fakes also use leather that oxidizes.

you can lighten the patina with baby whipes when it starts to get dark but eventually it will go dark

Yes, keeping it in the bags will make the oxidation process go slower. Although you have to be careful about getting the vachette wet, cause water leaves marks.

I just got a new Damier Azur Keepall 55 and I really want to keep the cream color. It has that perfect color with a hint of peach alomost that compliments the azur coloring so well. Oh well guess I will only have my pictures. haha.

you really shouldn't EVER keep it in the box. that could cause the bag to crack from no moisture in the air. leather is a natural product.. it's after all, skin.. and it needs to breathe. think of dry cracked skin.. that's your bag if you keep it in a box. storing it in the dustbag is all you need to do. :)

also, patina is not just a leather handbag term. the term is used to describe anything that has aged. copper patinas into a aqua green color. zinc patinas to a rusty orange color. etc.

Try leaving it in a hot car! I did this to mine and it helped.
