Default Question for Damier (NF especially) owners..
I finally narrowed it down to the one she wants...but now I found out in the FAQ forum that damier comes in different "brightness" and "color"..depending on what reel the canvas came from. When you guys bought your damier pieces, were you picky as to which one they gave you? If so, what would you recommend? I hear they come in a darker/softer/shinier vs. a lighter/more matte appearance. I feel like I'm thinking too much into this, but I want this bag to be exactly what she wanted it to be.

I have few Damier bags including Neverfull and didn't notice any difference in the canvas. They all look the same to me.

I think you're thinking to much.. I have both a Neverfull in Damier and a Speedy in Damier Azur and I've never thought of that. I love them and maybe I'm just stupid but I think most of the Damier bags looks the same.. If you like the Damier pattern I think you should go for it!

Inspect the bag when you make the purchase; if you are not happy with the finish just ask to have another one. :)

My Damier Ebene SLGs and handbags are the same. My monogram ZCP appears to be darker than my handbags and other SLGs. My suggestion would be to take something you have in Damier to the boutique and compare it would what you are planning to get. If the print matches, get it.

You are obviously a very thoughtful boyfriend to put that much effort in your girlfriend's gift, she's a lucky girl . Yes, you are thinking into too much, I am sure just the purse itself will blow her away! But, this might be helpful... you know in vehicles, how you can use a product call "armor-all" to clean your dash, and the result can be shinny or a matte finish? Well, what does she like a matte finish or shinny finish? I prefer matte and it just so happens that I like my damier more matte (coincidence????). Maybe this is a silly analogy but it might take the guessing out of "which one she likes" .

Perfect! I'm a huge car guy, so this analogy works well with me. I'll tell her about the difference when I give it to her.. I like more matte finishes as well (and I know she likes a more subtle look).. So that's probably what I'll go with.

OT: Btw, for those of you who have car fanatics for husbands and bf's, let them know that armor all, while it makes things shiny, has a chemical which will dry out your interior. I stick with "meguiar's", "mothers" and "lexol".
