hi guys,

so, what is Patina exactly? Is it a word to describe when the leather handles etc on our LV's darken from use? And is it caused by the sun or by sweat or what?????

i'm not liking the patina on the azur...but of course I'll have to deal with it as long as it's even patina throughout.

I love when the bags patina, my azur is very loved my only complaint is I can never keep the patina even.

Before I saw Azur in real life, I thought it would look like a white and blue checkered tablecloth, but then a woman walked by me in the Off Fifth store at the Niagara Falls Outlet Mall one day last summer carrying a Speedy in Azur and I nearly passed out, it was so gorgeous! Immediately, I knew that I would be buying one for myself when I got up to Toronto a few weeks later. There is a subtlety in the coloration that cameras and web photos just don't capture.

As for patina, mine has been stored safely since last Fall, and when I took her out for one afternoon a few weeks ago, the vachetta wasn't white like it had been, but was a pale honey color. IMO, as long as the patina is even, it is fine. What I don't particularly like is when the handles get quite a bit darker than the tabs on the bag. That just looks weird to me.

I have the Azur Hampstead PM and need a wallet to go with it. My problem is I don't like the way the Azur looks in the wallets ...thinking about a EPI Ivory instead. What wallets do you ladies with the Azur bags use?

to all of you who posted the patinaed Azur Speedys. thanks. I had bought one anyone. Was just concerned about how long I would have to go before I changed the tab and handles. Actually, if the leather gets darker, it might not look as bad as you think, because it's cream not white. And if it's only going to be used in Spring or Summer, it might stay nice a little longer.

I personally really like a darker (it needs to be an even, honey coloured patina otherwise it's just dirty/overused) with Azur, just like how I think white MC looks great with a honey patina.
