Oh THANK YOU so much for posting those pics, solai and camommy. I REALLY appreciate it. Boy the bags look great. Funny CA, b/c my "plan" with the oil mark talk began was to use a speedy during harsher winter weather in PA and maybe have the Gal. bag as a spring/summer/fall. I AM LOVING the way that looks.. I am going to hold back for TWO weeks and then see if I should spring for 2 bags at once - speedy for now and Gall. for spring use. Afraid if I don't get the GAL. this year it will be retired at year end? I don't know...But I know I am in love iwth this bag!!!! Thanks again. Melissa

Please excuse my ignorance... but I am planning to get the Azur Galliera so I have been doing my research on this bag...
Can some please further explain by what you all mean with the black marks? I had a look on the pics, but I still can't figure it out! Thanks! |

See where the large rings on each side are? They rub onto the vachetta causing grey/black marks from the brass. It's easily removable with a white eraser (Pentel pencil eraser)

I love my Galliera (it is in my avatar) and I do not regret buying it all. It is so roomy and comfortable. I have the PM size.

I called the 1-866 # last week or so & asked if this problem has been addressed. They said that LV considered the tarnishing rings as a manufacturing deffect & they now coat the brass rings to prevent this from happening. A new Galliera should not leave black marks on the vachetta now.

Yes, I do. I loved it when it first came out but waited for a pre-loved one since I don't spend over $1K on bags. I bought a pre-loved one in excellent condition 6 months ago and I rarely use it.
The things that IRK me are: The snap doesn't align when items are in the bag. The single shoulder strap (I never realized how much I prefer two straps!) The black marks the ring leaves on the vachetta For now, I'll keep her, but I'm certainly NOT in love with her. |

I have an AZUR in PM size that I bought in Paris this year...size is perfect; however I have some few concerns:
- the brass ring got broken (i had it repaired in a local shoe/bag shop and is now OK) - i wore it once with a dark blue jeans and i noticed some color transfer I do not use it daily, maybe 5x a month? no darkening in the vachetta yet..HTH! |

^^^ LOL!
I know I know... but I want to not stress if it rains or something! Anyway, I decided to treat the vachetta with Wilson's leather protector- in the past 1 1/2 hour I sprayed everything down very well 2 times. So far, the leather looks amazing. It's not any darker at all-- hope it protects it! |

I sprayed mine too with Kiwi Protect All, but I will not do it again even though it turned out fine. Do a search on this and you'll fine a quite lengthy thread from someone very knowledgeable on leathers. Long story short, the chemicals in the spray will alter your leather in the long run (you've seen dry cracking vachetta, right?) Anyway, I am sure no harm is done when you spray only a few times, but IMO I wouldnt keep doing it just in case the leather dries completely out 10 years down the road.

I used to own the PM, was not comfy at all! I felt it was too heavy, so I sold it.
