One of the reasons I bought a Raspail bag instead of a Cabas Mezzo was the fact that the first one was made in the US while the second one - in France. I like to support our manufacturers. They are skilled and deserved to be recognized as such. It is plain crazy to think that goods made in France are of superior quality. I lived in France long enough to realize that many things we attribute to French are pure myths. After all Marc Jacobs is an American.
I agree with stimulating the economy that's why I don't feel so bad when buying a MIUSA because I also live in the US. If it's an American designer I prefer made in USA, Italian designer, made in Italy, etc. I guess I'm crazy.
Made in USA is great with me - both my speedys are signature USA! Honestly, as long as it's top quality, I'm happy, so I know I can't go wrong with LV no matter where it's made! I have a couple of items Made in Spain and am just as happy with them, though since I'm a USA citizen, I'm certainly proud an international luxury company chooses to manufacture on my home turf, so to speak.
I heard LV has all of their high volume bags made in the USA...and if you can believe it...I also heard that Made in the USA is more cost effective than made in France...I was surprised.
