I splurged and got a gorgeous Janis vintage grey Janis shoulder bag and took it out of the package which was open by the way and it was awesome! Lightweight unbelievable and large too. Anyway, one side of the bag was perfect and after while I noticed that the other side the fringe was put on not in the seam but in the middle of the bag!
They will send me another and a packing slip to return this one. Pics attached so you can see. |

Yikes! WTF?! That is seriously messed up!!
Was the person packing the order just majorly distracted or something to not have noticed this?! (For that matter, was the person who made this bag drunk?!) At any rate, glad to hear that they're already dealing with this (giving you a shipping label to return this bag and sending out a replacement). Hope the replacement is completely problem-free!

Well Dani was not there yesterday so I talked to someone else adn she was supposed to call me back and didn't so I suppose nothing will happen until Monday. I told them I do not want to nor should have to wait while they ship another one I want it now! So hopefully they can send it out Monday.
Yup they must have been drunk and how did it get past QC?! It is not in the seam or anywhere close and we are talking a $395 bag!@!!! BTW not worth it! It is raw leather inside which I do not mind but someone may be expecting something lined for that price. |

Mine looks EXACTLY like that and it is designed that way.
If you look closely at all the Janis photos, you will see it is made that way. It's a flat bag, so when you have gear inside, the fringes hang and move more freely than if the two layers were all lined up. It took a moment to figure out Janis when I got mine; try putting your stuff in and remember it softens up quickly. Look how nicely it hangs when you wear it, the balance is perfect ~ which is sometimes not so great in flat bags ( even though empty, the shape looks unusual ). Janis Shoulder Bag *::*view all handbags*::*HANDBAGS*::*Linea Pelle Collection LP SITE description does not say it is lined, as all the other bags state brown or zebra linings. also. *real* Hippie style bags are not lined ! The quality of the leather is fine for using the suede side ! I have a fringed Ralph Lauren suede bag is that is made that way. btw, If you see brown twill listed as a lining on other sites, it is an error on that reseller's part. I did note that the Janis bags are unlined previously in this forum Linea Pelle Clutches Google and look around, or check these: Linea Pelle Janis Fringe Shoulder Bag in Vintage Grey and Vintage Black @ Singer22.com (enlarge the photos) Linea Pelle Janis Shoulder Bag | Boho Chic Leather Handbag with Fring | Fashion Icons | PopLife.Biz http://www.pinkmascara.com/Designers/Linea-Pelle/Linea-Pelle-Janice-Shoulder-Bag-in-Grey Luna Boston | Janis Shoulder Bag Details look at all the pictures Linea Pelle Janis Shoulder Handbag - New! - vintage grey - Pronto Style.com I enjoy my Janis bags ! |

Your right! Well I hate it that way! It looks so wrong! What did you think when you got it?
I knew it was not lined infact I have the black clutch as well. Is you rzipper really sticky as well? Thanks for informing me. I better fill it up and see how I like it. I like your reference to keep your lip glosses in a separate deal. |

Whoa, really?? I can understand not having the fringe line up if the bag actually had a base (i.e. it's not a flat construction), but that doesn't seem to be the case at all judging from the pics. (Do correct me if I'm wrong, of course!) It kind of looks off if it was actually designed to be this way, but that's JMHO. Well, at least it wasn't a major QC oversight!
Thanks for the info!

I agree with Stormy Heart, I kind of look at it as a "real" Hippie style, so it's normal without linings. I have mixed feelings about LP because I don't like rough unfinished look, but I am extremely happy with their croco lines and the samantha. I just try to avoid the Dylans and the Janis because of their rough and unfinished look, but I know a lot of other people like them the way it is.

I like it unlined, thats not the point. I want it to line up and it looks defective this way with the back around the edge and tucked into the seam and the front stitched right across the front of the bag.
You really have to look at the pics to notice this so maybe when I carry it noone will notice or when its filled up. I will give it a chance as it is gorgeous other than this. Also I was told Dani has the same bag so she must know whats what. |

In the first picture I see the fringe curving around the side of the bag, I think this looks very nice and unique. The other side is the back where it is just hanging straight down from the bottom/sides of the purse. I hope you wind up loving the purse.

How soft and what texture is the leather on this purse, how does it compare to the dylan?

I will post some modeling pics of me with ALL my bags when I am dressed for it, in relaxation mode today!
It is SOFTER and way lighter than Dylans and i have a ton of them. The leather is smooth and shiny. I could not even believe there was a bag in the box as it was so light but without the hardware it would be lighter than a Dylan, it is as light as an Alyssa but the leather is better and not so porous as Alyssas. |

Well they emailed me a free return label for it so I sent it back but of course the new one they sent out immediatley was exactly the same as the first one!
I also sent back the bamboo vanilla bracelet set as they cannot jsut exchange the bamboo one so I am getting my money back. I have so many of their bracelets now! I got the black twisted new one and a free cognac for buying the Janis bag and I LOVE them! |

I looked at the pictures of the bag -- it is definitely designed that way for ergonomics so there is less stress on the shoulder and back. I've seen bags of this kind at nature/sports stores. If I'm not mistaken, it's supposed to be curved to mimic the shape of the pigskin(?) water canteens travelers used centuries ago.
