Hi Jennifer- It was the one with the zippers around the side. I remember it was on sale on earth day at the LP website for $175. if it was the bigger zip tote I would have snatched it in a second!!

Thanks! I just did a search and I guess they didn't make the bigger one in Persimmon. Since you're up :) was the Persimmon a pinkish orange or more of a true orange? The website pics show both...

And what do you think the smaller Dylan in the Persimmon was? The Double-Handle? Or a Small Speedy?

Hi Jennirane! I'm so excited I can actually answer one of your questions since you've been helping me out so much! I saw a persimmon tote in TJ Maxx a little while back and didn't realize until then that the persimmon was so lovely. I had to pry myself away from it. It seemed more pinkish-orange to me. I don't know if maybe it got faded though in the time it took to get to TJ Maxx since a lot of the pictures do seem to be pretty orange.

I think the persimmon was kind of like a coral/orange. It was very pretty! I was considering it but the zipper on the top seemed like it was harder to zip/unzip. Not sure if it was a defect bag and given to Tj Maxx or if that is normal with LP bags. I only have the dylan patchwork tote and it has magnetic snap but I did notice the zippers in front weren't very smooth to zip/unzip.
For the smaller bag, it was the dylan shoulder bag http://www.lpcollection.com/dylan-shoulder-bag-new.html |

ah yes, this dylan shoulder bag in cognac was the one i saw at my tjx... wasnt too fond of the shoulder strap or the style tho... the persimmon was really beautiful and i like it too. (i'm wondering how it compares to RM's coral) i think it's more orange-y ...but more pink in person than what it looks like online. i still havent decided whether to keep this clutch in this color that i got at tjx...didn't seem like that great of a price, but not sure what a steal for lp is. |

Thanks everyone! And Hi, Lunarlu!! This is the only other subforum ('sides HH) that I ever visit... there's a lot of cross-over.
Jen, it's been my experience with LP that often the zippers are not that smooth. I think it's because the bags are constructed and then washed, and maybe the leather shrinks a tiny bit? Stormy would know. But especially on the last spring and fall lines, the shiny brass hardware doesn't seem as solid or smooth as the older, antiqued brass hardware (and here I'm talking about the Dylans...) So you were right to keep looking... you'll find they differ from bag to bag. Thanks for the feedback on the orange of the Persimmon... I was hoping it was the more yellow-orange than pinky orange... but still might try to get a small piece in it! Wallet or day clutch. Katrin, was it the Day Clutch you found at TJX? What was the price? And has anyone seen any Dylan wallets at TJXs?? THAT would be fantastic! |

PS Jen, thanks for looking up the shoulder bag! I'm 4 hours from a TJX, but my sister lives in Chi-Town and hits the State Street TJX/Filene's combo (and throw in the Rack across the street... *sigh* Heaven. ALMOST makes up for the loss of MF's). $199 is a good price--I think that bag is bigger than it seems in the pics.

Yes I agree that Lohmans/TJ Max/ Filene Basement/NR combo on State St is great!!! Nordtrom Rack had several botkiers. I was thinking of getting a green ziggy satchel for $205 there but there was a noticable scratch on the leather. I ended up getting a Bmakowsky white leather bag at TJMAx for $150. |

I REALLY miss being able to do that whole area whenever I wanted... used to live in Bloomington/Normal and drive up on the weekends!
Just a heads-up about BMakowsky, he (they/wife too) steal quite a few designs from other designers. It's pretty blatant. Nordies carried their "latest" designs which were absolute knock-offs of Hayden-Harnett's Havana and Lorca (both were HH original designs from their very first year). They're persona non grata in the HH subforum, and they've knocked off other designers as well. Not everyone finds this offensive, I realize... just thought you should know. They're all over TJX and the other discount stores. If LP doesn't/can't replace the zipper for you, try rubbing some candle wax on it to smooth it over... I think in some of the "care of" threads people talk about that... |

ARGH! It's SO frustrating being so far away from a TJX!! I'm hitting the one I mentioned in Denver, though... next Thursday hopefully!

That's nice and basic!
There's a black Havana on Bonanzle right now, BTW for $180 OBO. I just got my first Havana (Eucalyptus) and LOVE LOVE LOVE it. It's so lightweight. (Sorry! Back to topic...) |
