Default Just making sure
My apologies if this question has been answered already. I have the Dylan Folding Zip tote, and -before reading this thread- removed a small tea stain from it with a leather cleanser/conditioner. It totally changed the texture of the leather. It sounds like the Wilson stuff is the answer for me. I just want to make sure that it will not change the texture. Any other suggestions are also most welcome.

Hi guys! I just made my first lp purchase - the Dylan wallet and small messenger bag in coconut (really great leather - you guys weren't kidding!). So I couldn't find the Wilson's but I knew where to find Kiwi products so I went in search of the Protect All. Unfortunately they didn't have the regular Protect All but had the "Super Protector with Nano Technology." Does anyone know if this is very different from the regular Protect All and so not to be trusted or is it just a better version of the original?

Default actually soaked the entire bag in a little soap!

ok so I had a stain of something on my brown dylan, this was the small shoulder bag kinda smaller than the new dylan but that really soft almost suede like, anyway I had the entire bag submerged, swished it around a little, soaked it, rubbed it's backside (JK) let it drip dry on a towel then hung it in my dining room (where all good purses get to go) and you so would not believe how nice it turned out! Then I treated a quick light spray of tlc and put her away for the summer. just awesome. i have a stain on my amethyst cross body dylan that I'm sick over, she's being quarantined at the momment. God am I sick, or what? Who say's this can't be a hobby? Happy Mom's day everyone!

Yes, OK to protect your bracelets with spray, on the face side. If you you splash water on them while hand-washing, just blot them quickly with your towel.

You're saying that if you had read the thread FIRST, you'd have known better.
To restore the naked finish you can try to wash out the product you used that messed her up. Some Lexol pH could help you.
Rain/Stain protector sprays will not change the texture. Kiwi, Meltonian and also Uggs brands are preferred if you cannot find Wilson. Just back on post #97 there is a reminder to stay away from rich conditioners. This includes those hidden in dual products (cleanser/conditioners). Taking time to read the thread is quicker than undoing ~ or trying to fix ! ~ a mistake and less painful than a ruined bag.

This is what is recommended: http://www.kiwishoeproducts.com/product_p/256.htm
http://www.kiwishoeproducts.com/Kiwi...ctor_p/261.htm

There is no "nano technology" or "super protector" in the Kiwi websites so I am not sure what product you saw. It could just mean 'a very fine mist'! I'd like to compare labels to be certain, but have not seen your nano.
(Super protection would imply a silicone or wax product, IMO)

The keywords you want are: rain and stain protector for fine leather and suede.(also nubuck)

**** All SUEDE-safe products are OK for WASHED leathers, while not all products for FNISHED leathers are good for our naked LPs ! ****

PS ProtectALL is a BRAND name of automotive products and NOT OK for LP leather !

It is strange - the label didn't say if it was water or oil based so I went online to check and couldn't find it anywhere either. But I promise it does exist! I've attached photos of the can.
I ended up buying the product and tried it on my new polished foley + corinna. Because it was polished leather, I wasn't quite as worried about testing it out and honestly it turned out fine - on that bag. I've even worn it in the (light) rain since and I have no complaints. But because lp leather is so much more luscious, I was still nervous to use it on my new lps. So, I tried it on a portion of the leather swatch and compared the before and after....I could tell where I had used it; it was a little shiny and not quite as soft. I didn't notice a color change and the texture change really isn't that noticable but it just isn't worth it to me. I'm just going to find some tlc on ebay.

My new LP small messenger arrived and because of the way it was shipped, a seam on the outer pocket was bent up. Any ideas on how to flatten it out? I've tried a semi-heavy book but the seam still stick straight up. TIA!

hello! i have the dylan folding tote in cognac. i got it last month and carried it the same day because i was so excited and could not wait. i did not think i would hav had to pretreat my bag because 1. i have never pretreat a bag and 2. i did not think i would ever had to. so now, i totally regret not doing so with my dylan. the first day i carried my bag i wore a long navy blue dress. the next day when i saw my bag i noticed that one side of the bag was blue...(my dress had colored my bag ) i tried to take the color off with water and some of the color did come off. is there something else i can do to remove the color? another question after learning the hard way i bought the wilson TLC that every one has been talking about. since i have a stain on my bag is it safe to use or i need to remove the stain before using it? thank you all for ur help.

I have read through this thread several times and can't find an answer to my question. I just purchased a used angie speedy in aubergine from ebay and while it is in decent shape, the gunmetal hardware is a bit scratched and oxidized. Is there anything I can do? I'm aware of using brasso on brass hardware but this is gunmetal,

TIA!

Your bag was washed after construction, so seams may be a little wacky due to normal lambskin shrinkage ( mostly along zippers and seams ).
If your issue is major, post a picture so I can help you minimize the effect. I need to see what we are talking about. There may be an easy fix.
