Default Anyone ever have a Samantha?
I decided to pick one up. I always wanted to try it. I was wondering if it was really ultra smushy or a little more structured? Was the Double zippers hard to deal with and di the top smush down and in if it wasn't stuffed full? I love handheld bags and this one always appealed to me. I also wonder if the leather covered studs will wear off. Any ideas?

I've been looking at this bag since last year, and the main reason I haven't gotten any until now is because I couldn't find much info about it. It seems it's not a popular bag, but I really love its design, the double zippers that meet at the center of the bag, the 2 exterior side pockets, and the leather covered studs.

I almost got it else where for around $330, so when I saw it back on LP site again, I couldn't help it but ordered it immediately. I won't even be able to pick it up from my friend in CA until July, but with that price I just couldn't resist!!!

My Hubbie bought me one in black. I think the reason why I kept it was because HE loved it (lol) I really like the fact that it is totally different than any other bag out there. I call it my little tricerotops (lol)
The bag is smushy the only thing that is sturdy are the studs. The double zippers are easy to close, I haven't had a problem with them. The ony thing that I don't like about the bag is the weight (it give my arms a workout lol) However, I am able to fit the bag under my arm when I get tired . The tops smushes down but if you have it filled with things it wont. I dont know about the studs wearing off since I just got the bag in the beginning of this year (I never thought of that ) It's still a unique/cute bag in my opinion so yay for you getting it!!!

This is so great to hear! Would you share some modelling pics with us? I can't find any modelling pics. of this bag! I've always imagined it to be a small satchel, but it seems to be a big bag.

I ordered last night and I usually get a shipping confirm really quickly. Haven't got it yet so I am wondering a little. Hmmm....don't like hearing it's ultra smushy but it wasn't expensive so it's no biggie.

I have eight beautiful Samanthas.
Peek here -----> Did you carry an LP today?
to see why.

They are more structured than Dylans; the exoskeleton is actually constructed of the brass pyramids !
The leather coverings on the studs are very secure; I don't expect abnormal wear there.
Samantha leather is most like our beloved Pipers, thick with a little shine.
The 2 way zip is lovely, because the bag opens centrally, not all across.
It's more refined and lady-like to handle. Did I mention her golden feet ?
It's a perfectly balanced med-lg satchel; no matter how much you fill, it always carries the same.
It is lightweight, holds a lot and the side pockets are a great medium size.
The only way Sammie could be better is to come in more colors !
IMEO, Sammie is the best design family from LP, so far.....
: heart:

EIGHT???? As in 8??? LOL
I take it you like the bag! Thanks for the review.

When I sit it down and unzip it, is it going to flap open wide and all my stuff is exposed?

She politely sits up when fully opened. Or you can open just one zipper at a time if you like. It's very easy to access everything, the inner zip and slip pockets are sized for cellphone, ipod, etc., so all your stuff behaves.
The black is so rocker chic, biker babe, yet has that almost frilly effect from the covered studs. It's a very feminine bag.
Lex, I just have an affinity for pyramids !

I LOVE the look of the Sammy satchel in black...my only concern is the strap drop. Can't do the hand held/arm carry thang.

So why does the strap drop look long enough for the shoulder in some photos??

^ I was just going to ask the same thing! I need to be able to carry a bag on my shoulder, and I can't find any modeling pics of this one to see if that's possible...

Go to Fall 08 campaign, you'll see it on a model. The other model in the photo has a dylan shoulder, so you can see the strap drops side by side.
Scroll through the adobe slides. In another photo model is holding it away from her body.

Preference of shoulder carry only is a hard limit for many women.
Not so long ago, I felt that way. Sammie is the first arm carry I've been comfortable with. The flat soft straps rest perfectly on forearm or in hand.

Thanks for the reviews! In fact this has been my DREAM bag since last year. The reason I haven't gotten it until now is because of the handle drop. I've always preferred shoulder bags over handheld bags. However, ever since I got on this forum, I started trying out bags that I would have never bought before, and I just love it!

My hands sweat a lot all of the time, so I always ruin the handles on some handheld bags. Since I love the Samantha so much, I didn't want to buy it and then ruin it! But I finally grabbed a black one instead of the Dijon hoping that the dark color will be easier to maintain.
