I was just looking at the LP bags on hautelook and came here to see more. That is a cute tote! Someone mentioned that they didn't want to use appleguard on it - does it darken this kind of leather?

I think that's exactly what it would do, I know it darkened the leather on some areas of another washed leather bag I had. I think you're just supposed to use a good spray to water/stain proof it - like Wilson's. Check the care and feeding thread.

With appleguard I've had momentary darkening after spraying, then the leather always went back to the normal shade after it dried up.It probably depends on what kind of leather it is- probably the dry matte leather might darken from the spray, maybe because it's thirsty?
What kind of leather is on the dylan totes and speedy?

It was the conditioner that darkened a washed leather tote I had, the spray seemed to cause no problems.

sorry to revive this thread, but yesterday i took this dylan tote out while shopping and one of the zipper pulls fell. i am sooooo mad. ive only used it a handful of times (maybe 4/5 times). what sucks is that i was at the outlets and i didnt notice it was gone until ive walked the entire place. i tried to look for it too but i didnt find it.

has anyone experienced this?!?

Yikes, sorry to hear that, ardj. Have you tried contacting Dani at LP about this? LP has great CS, and I'm sure Dani will be able to help you out with getting the zipper pull fixed or replaced. Good luck, and do keep us updated about it!
