Well ladies - this is the LAMB that almost wasn't. Hang on...it's been a long night and I need to vent. I know you'll all understand.....
So. Last week when I went to presale, I grabbed the Berry Rocksteady tote to presale, the SA filled out the presale slip, and put my bag away.
On the other side of the store, there was another "preview" section. I went in and asked about the fadeout. They did not have any out. The SA brought out the Mocha fadeout bag that someone had called to hold, but had not yet purchased. I told her I wanted it and gave her all my info, CC, the works. She said if the other girl didn't want it, she'd put it in my name. If the other gal did, then she'd order me one. Either way - I asked her to call me and let me know. She said it'll be "no problem, we can order it and just ship direct to you". Okay, fine. I'm cool with that. I asked if she was sure that I'd be able to get one, otherwise I'd try to get it at another store. "Oh, it's not a problem, we can just order it and you'll get it."
All week - NO phone call. I've been calling the store since Saturday to try to get an answer on who ended up with the bag. I finally get there today and of course, the SA is not there. Another one took my presale tickets and went looking. She found my Rocksteady, but couldn't tell me anything about the Fadeout.
Finally, she calls the other SA at home and finds out that the other girl DID buy the bag, and that she was going to order me one NEXT WEEK!
WTF!! I asked why that couldn't be done now, and this SA told me orders wouldn't be filled until the 21st at best. A full THREE DAYS after the sale starts, and there was no guarantee that I could get the bag if it sold out.
That's when I went nutzo!
I specifically asked if I would get the bag last week and was told "no problem" - not "uh, well, if there's anything left you could get one". I said I would have bought the bag at another store that I KNEW had the bag last week so that I was guaranteed to get one. I told her SCP had one and I would have purchased it there that same day had I known there was a chance I wouldn't get it. I was livid that the original SA didn't call me and let me know. I said that last year, the LAMB bags were wiped out, and it took me MONTHS to get one. The whole reason that I wanted to presale was to guarantee I'd get one. UGH!!!!
Thankfully, Vera ( the one helping me today, and is IMO the most awesome SA in the world), understood that I should have been called and/or been told that there was no guarantee on the bag. She was a sweetheart and called around and did her best to fix the situation. It was already close to 8:15, and she was off her shift. I give it ONE last effort and ask her to call Glendale. They are busy and cannot tell her if they have one for about 15 minutes. She offers to stick around and call me to let me know. I told her I was going to be driving home, but to call me.
So, I'm on the fricken 5 frwy, FUMING! Pissed that I might not get this bag. It was now 8:20 when I get on the freeway. 8:35pm, and I'm about two exits from home, and Vera calls - and yes, Glendale has ONE bag.
You know I put my foot on that damn gas pedal and drove my a$s to Glendale to pick that sucker up tonight! I swear, I made it there at 8:55pm. How I made it there in time, I have no clue. the traffic gods were on my side. Nearly on an empty gas tank (duh, couldn't waste time to stop for gas), hungry, tired, cranky, but damned as hell to get that bag!
Whew! Okay....so, I've had no dinner. stressed out. Drove from Santa Ana to Glendale (uh, for non-LA gals, that's a good 45 miles). I know you gals can understand. I got my bag but just had to vent! ALL BETTER NOW. On to the fun stuff!!
