Default Wonky Zippers

Hey everyone, I was taking the stuffing out of my Cheetah Oxford today to make sure the lining is pristine and noticed that the middle zipper opens OK but when I pull it in the opposite direction to close it, I have a little trouble. The front and back zippers are giving me no trouble at all - they glide really smoothly.

BTW, I zip and unzip all my handbags by pulling close to the base of the zipper so as not to break the zipper pulls (it's happened to me a few times). I tried closing the middle zipper both ways (close to the base and with the pull) but it's still sticking a little bit.

Is this normal, particularly for Oxfords, because the middle zipper is more curved? Will it improve over time as I use the bag?

I had the same problem in the beginning with my Montego coming around the corners and it has improved with use. I think yours will too.

I use my Saddle Oxford quite a bit and at first, the middle zipper was harder to zip closed. However after a while, it pretty much glides as smoothly as the front and back zippers.

My Love Capri bag closes a little stiffly around the top/sides. I haven't had it long so I guess it will improve in the ease of closing in time. I, too, am very careful about closing it, though. Would FREAK if something happened to it!!

What knas said, same on my Montego. My hubby suggested lightly rubbing a candle end (wax) or point of a pencil (which is graphite) over the teeth, either would act as a bit of a lubricant 'til the bag got more broken in.

The candle thing helped a lot on the grabby corners. I didn't try the pencil lead as I was afraid of getting it all over the bag :) but have used that on other zippers with great success.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I feel better knowing that it's not uncommon for L.A.M.B. some zippers to be a little stiff at first.

Thanks for asking about it WinterStorm! My Silver Oxford does the same thing and I didn't realize that it was a common problem that would go away with time. Good to know.

The second sentence should've read "for some L.A.M.B. zippers to be a little stiff." Darn it, I wish TPF had spell check where the green line appears under a sentence if the structure isn't correct.

No problem lvmybags13 - I'm still somewhat new to L.A.M.B. so if I have a question, I put it out there.
