Default rowington vs esquivel
Hi, I need some advice and was hoping some of you would give it! I have an ls rowington that I've never used. I was thinking of getting it out of the closest, but an hesitant. I am also thinking of selling it and getting an esquivel. I like a lot of things about the rowington like size, shoulder bag, etc. but the thing that really worries me is the stripe cracking. The stripe along the flap of my bullseye wallet is really cracked and I know if my purse looked like that I'd be bummed. Any experience?

Also, I like the look of the esquivel, very cool. Can you fit it over your shoulder? How big is it?

Thanks you guys are awesome!

Here is my advice, I have both those bags. I have the Rowington and love it but the cracking on the stripe does bother me, I just try to be very careful when I am opening it. It also bothers me when I am trying to get something out of it really fast and want to put something back in fast it always snaps back down. For the Esquivel I can't remember if I ever used it (bad mommy) but I believe it does fit over your shoulder. With all that said those two shapes are my favorites.

Here's a modeling pic of the esquivel - it will fit over your shoulder but it is a bit snug. I've never had a rowington, but I have the exeter and the strap is going to be an issue eventually. I loved this bag, but it was too similar to the Mandeville for me - so I kept the Mandy and sold this one long ago....

I always felt like the esquivel was a handheld trying to masquerade awkwardly as a shoulder bag.

I had one for a very short time. Never felt right as a shoulder bag, as if it could work that way if you needed your hands free but just felt more appropriate as a handheld. Either way, the size and weight distribution of the esquivel never felt right to me no matter how I carried it so I returned it.

My rowingtons didn't get used enough to have an issue with the strap, but I could see that happening.

You could always consider an Oxford. It wears nicely both ways.

This is so helpful. Thanks all! And yvalenz, love the modeling photo. The cheetah esquivel is one of my wishes.
