Default oh where oh where can my shadow montego be???

i'm having such a bad luck with eBay lately.. i bought a shadow montego on july 1st.. the seller shipped it the next day via priority mail and gave me the tracking number.. i checked online and this is what they gave me..

Label/Receipt Number: *0** *0** 00** *274 *62*
Status: Notice Left

We attempted to deliver your item at 8:30 AM on July 5, 2008 in ZIP Code 94189 and a notice was left. It can be redelivered or picked up at the Post Office. If the item is unclaimed, it will be returned to the sender. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later.

the thing is 94189 is not the zip code that it's supposed to be send to.. and add more to that, it's not even exist!! i've been communicating back and forth with the seller and she said that she did send the bag to the correct address and still have the receipt to prove it.. she's gonna contact the post office and get back to me.. and i also called my local post office and talked to the supervisor about it.. he said he's going to investigate it and get back to me today or tomorrow the latest.. i told him that the zip code doesnt even exist and he said that i'm the second person to call this morning about this..

ugh!! i just wantttt my bagggg!!

Sometimes the post office is just wacky. A few months back I bought a bag from eBay. According to the tracking number there was no address for the known zip code so the package was being sent back. I talked to the seller and she confirmed that she printed a shipping label from Paypal which had my correct zip code on it. Calling and speaking to the local post office manager did nothing for me. She was quite rude and pretty much just said that I'd have to wait until the package was returned to the sender to be resent.

Well that evening the package was on my doorstep. I confirmed the tracking number that I was given was the same as on the package. And my zip on the package was correct. But when I went and checked the USPS site, the info was still all wrong. Sometimes the tracking numbers get mixed up in the system.

I really hope that maybe your package was just misrouted or something and will make it safely to you in the next day or so. Was it insured? I'm really sorry this has happened...I hope you get it soon! Keep us posted!

I think my seller shipped out priority on July 2, so I'm going to give it another day before I say anything.

Don't forget the 4th Holiday too. I don't care what the post office says, they took off Friday AND Saturday.

Ahhh...no wonder, I thought they were only off on Friday. So if it's not here by tomorrow I will contact the seller.

Yep, The seller did sent it out on the 25th cause when I checked the tracking on USPS it said "Item was processed in CA on June 25th" and I was in a panic last week thinking it was lost.

That is just maddening! M.I.A. shipped items drive me bonkers, and it's been way worse this year than ever before - my guess is cutbacks and a lot of new/temp/part time employees.

So far this year I have had at least 6 (costly) items delivered to the completely wrong address - to slightly similar addresses! These things were shipped via a variety of services (ie FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc). In every case the issue was that someone misread the label (or just offloaded my stuff along with someone elses?).

The lucky thing is that each time, the people who received tracked ME down to let me know they had my stuff - thank gawd! It's not like any of them know me, we're in a fairly large city, so I barely know neighbors that live right next door to me, let alone 3-4 blocks away! I was seriously surprised that they did - items included $1000+ in sale shoes from Zappos, $1200 fawncy new smartphone, and a pricey GPS.

The worst was picking up all of those misdelivered shoes from some guy's house, there were like a b*ttload of boxes with Zappos all over them - plus a packing list on the outside of one listing every frikkin shoe type...

ohMYgawd.. I was like.. uh they're uh gifts for my uh mom and stuff.. yeah... that's it !!! Thanks!! buhBYE!!

I'm so sorry Indi that really sucks! It sounds like a mistake on the part of the post office and not the seller, so at least it doesn't seem like a ebayer trying to rip you off. Hopefully the PO will get their sh*t together and get your bag to you!

Btw I can't believe you actually found a shadow montego! That's a GORGEOUS bag, congrats!

Relating to eBay-LAMB related ordeals... I might have a situation. I just got an email from the person who bought my LS Marley saying that USPS showed it as delivered even though she did not get it. She also said she hoped that I insured the package. I clearly listed in my auction that insurance was an optional $2.50 and that it was up to the buyer. She did not add the insurance into her payment. If the package is indeed missing, can I be held liable? I don't want my 100% feedback ruined or think I should be held responsible for something that wasn't my fault. What are my options at this point if she decides to get vengeful?

Well, I think I am done with eBay. The buyer has filed a dispute against me and now my Paypal account is locked. The seller said it is my responsibilty to insure the package period And someone in the Ebay forum said that Paypal almost always sides with the buyer. So basically that is saying that all someone has to do is state that they don't receive a package and they get a refund? I'm so pissed I think I need to just go to bed.

This is why I gave up on eBay months ago. It's totally not worth it for sellers on there anymore. Buyers have all the rights and can leave negative feedback for sellers even if they non pay which still pisses me off.

BUT, that being said, don't lose hope! You clearly stated in your auction that insurance was optional. You have delivery confirmation for the package, showing that it was delivered. You are not responsible for lost/damaged packages if the buyer didn't purchase the insurance. It'll be okay Knas.

....the ahole still might leave you a negative though. Just be prepared for that.
