Default lambie raok/gift exchange
Hi ladies, denise and I had mentioned putting together a gift exchange here in the lamb forum.

I got the idea from wifeyb who is doing on for the coach girls. I put together one on the NDC last dec and it was super fun and pretty successful, with the exception of two losers who received gifts but didn't send one :/

Anyhow, I kept it pretty simple. I had each person pm me 3 things like liked and one they hated as a helpful hint for the buyers :) and had everyone send me their addy. Then I sent each person a buddy :) gave a 25 dollar limit and a deadline <3

If anyone is interested or has ideas let me and or denise know :)

Is it just a one-time exchange? or several times during the holiday season?

I have done several in the beauty bar. Wifey is in on the latest one over there. I forgot about the deadline and missed it. It's ok though because holiday is coming up! Yay!

In the BB it was a lot higher (the amount) and we had to fill out a survey that our secret buddy would get to know things about us. But I do like your way Donna. I like the smaller amount (although I think it should be a minimum of $25 and if some choose to go higher they can... what do you think??) and the easier questionnaire. We are a smaller group over here <3

I know sometimes you get people who don't hold up their end of the bargain (happened to me on my first RAOK), so we should also have an angel type system ready to go if that happens.

How about requirements? Like should we have a so many posts, so much time in the l.a.m.b forum, etc... type of system also?

lol i knew the RAOK bug would get ya! lol you know mama would participate! make sure to copy the rules from a previous one. this will help keep the party poopers out, lol the ones who receive their gift, but then dont send one out for their buddy.
we use a site called elfster.com it automatically draws names for you, and you make wishlists on there so your buddy can see what you like! :O) (i totally just wrote all of this in the chat thread too WHOOPS)

for our rules/regulations-we did have to be a member for at least 4 months, have to have a minimum of 400 posts, have to be an active member of the thread.

yeah in the BB its 75 also in our coach its 75-100 (coach items are exchanged for this one thats why its a little more)

we also sent out a survey to let your buddy get to know more about you.

check out elfster if you think thats a way to go. its really good for larger groups. i know our group here is smaller so we could prob do without.

for the "angel system" we had to do this in the BB this round, someone didnt send their package, so they took the total number of people who participated, and divided the amount of the package that was bought for them which was 100ish, so we each had to paypal $4 to the person who went and purchased the angel gift. so here it would be like we each donate 3-4 since the limit would be $25

also think of a deadline for sign ups. and a deadline when the gift/s have to be sent out

sounds exciting!!

Oh I'm so excited I could tinkle myself !!! I think $25 is perfect amount. My only concern is the post amount. I'm obviously have a wimpy post number but a long time member. I would love to plead my case if the cut off is 400+.

I haven't been around so much lately but I'd love to play if you have room for me

I'm in the LV RAOK exchange and it's been such a great way to get to know people! I've also done a Coach exchange a few months back so if you need references, I'm good at sending out my gifts on time

I too like the $25 limit

Wifey is totally the RAOK queen over in Coach right now. The mods do not really get involved in this unless they are participants, so you're on your own if you have someone that wimps out. It is definitely best to outline the rules upfront and run a tight ship. I would use this thread to chat about it, and then set up an official RAOK thread when you're ready to outline everything, with the rules in the first post. I say this because we have had some really SAD situations occur across the subforums, and I want everyone to have a great time!

When you are ready to go and want this stickied, please PM me and I can do that.

I think you're right wifey. Rules should be set in place. Elfster could be a good idea, or not because we are a smaller group (like wifey said). We could decide that depending on how many people join.

Also I don't necessarily think it should be all about how many posts a lambie has. it should also be about maybe how long a lambie has been around (like kshtrdgrl who we all know ), if we can vouch for them, etc.....?

Donna what do you think??

And I think the questionnaire would def be a good thing. We could get to know each other a lot better this way!
