^ Agreed. That bag retailed for $80. So the lie in itself makes me suspicious of the seller. Ask for tons more pics and check out the zipper, charm (front and back), and the interior with the lesportsac tag. Why why why would they say they paid that much??. If they did they totally got ripped off! haha.

Thank you unluckystars and lambiepie. I only own one LeSportsac for L.A.M.B. so I don't know much about authenticity clues. I really want to get one for DL, and lucky for me there are a few to bid on right now. Seems like there are lots of great L.A.M.B. bags on ebay right now.
You are right though, saying they paid over $300 retail sends up a red flag. Maybe they are simply mistaken, but at least we know what the bags truly sold for. |

Hi, hope I'm posting correctly. I noticed there are a lot of lipstick and bullseye saddle on ebay recently. Many say they are from sample sales. I'd love to have one, but want to know authenticity. Are these for real? Also, how much should I be willing to spend? Thanks.

Hi Lisaea1, welcome to TPF :-) If you post a specific link of something that you're looking at then I think that would be more helpful for us to help you authenticate something. As for the price, it depends on what shape the bag is and what condition it is in.

Thanks for the help. I was burnt once on ebay, so I'm extra cautious. I bought a purse at Off 5th and really want the matching wallet and ebay seems to be the best option. Thanks again. I share if I get something :)

Why does this Saddle Alston have a different plating on the inside? Take a look at this picture: http://www.auctiva.com/hostedimages/...0,0,0&format=0 Is this prevalent to all Alston bags? I've never seen that sort of plate before. |

^^That is really interesting. I don't have an answer, hopefully one of the others pops in and has an answer. Also- lol- the descrp. says Cyprus- I saw this earlier and wanted to crack up! Big difference between a Cyprus and an Alston!!!

Since the seller is in NY maybe it is a sample?? I'm not an expert but this is the only time I have seen it like this since I have collected LAMB. I could be totally wrong though! I do think this plate is pretty like this. |

That is a sample bag... from a sample sale years ago. I've seen that fancy gold plating around the turquoise enamel nameplate on a handful of Mandevilles, Commodores, and Alstons before.
My guess is that this bag was a leftover that stayed with L.A.M.B. over the years and this ebayer happened to snag it from the recent SS. I happen to like that it gives the bag something special... especially since the turquoise enamel is gone now. :( |

It's a sweet bag. I would definetely bid on it if I didn't already have it in Saddle.

Does anyone understand what they mean by the inside is blue? It looks black to me and isn't this typical with a red outer ring and black inside? Also, does anyone have experience with these painted bags? I read one complaint that the paint chips and needs touched up. I wouldn't want that. Thanks.

^ Some of the bullseye bags were pictured on a few websites that had a blue outer ring on the bullseye, with a red circle around the little lamb. They were early production bags.
Then when the bulk of the Bullseye bags came out - they had a red outer ring with a blue circle around the little lamb. I have a Bullseye Montego and I use it a lot, I have never had any issues with the paint rubbing off, but I have heard other Bullseye owners did. |
