Is it my imagination or have LAMBs gotten cheaper with this new line?
It looks like the new mandeville is $395 now, I could have sworn they were over $400 before. Btw, I love, love the new Marigold and Mandalay patterns.

The newer versions are a bit less structured than the older ones, and there's no longer a clasp on the front so the price point is a bit lower.

Ah, thank you. I've been sitting here for the last few minutes staring at the new pictures and couldn't figure out why it looked different.
Thanks! |

Though the prices looked better, I was disappointed with the interior changes of this past season. The interior fabric has changed to that of lesser quality (a la Soft Signatures). The only exception is the Perca (formerly Carlisle), which still has the older lining. Also, the pockets are now made of PVC that matches the exterior, but again it lessens the quality. :( I, for one, was sad to see both of these changes.
It also sucks that you can see the exterior nameplate/plaque being bolted from the interior because it does take away from the quality. But that's just me. |

The mandevilles were $395 during the first two seasons then it went up to $425. I'm glad the prices are becoming a little more reasonable!

I like the pockets that are in my classic Commodore and even placed in the more recent Rocksteady and my Jacquard Kerry has them too- the envelope pocket w/ pocket behind it and the other 2 longer pockets along each side of the envelope pocket. These keep me better organized.

I don't think that the lining has changed in all of the bags. From what I can remember it is only the soft signature-esque bags that have the cheaper lining. I don't know about the newer mandeville, but I don't think?
The cheaper hardware may also be a result of reducing weight. The original collections where SO HEAVY with that THICK lining and HEAVY hardware it seems as though this "recession cutback" is better in almost every way?! |

I guess I'm old-fashioned. I really like seeing the thicker fabric when I open my LAMBs. With the multiple fabric pockets like you say. I'm glad I'm not alone!

I agree, the changes result in lighter Signature bags... especially since they are "feet-less" as well. You know what I noticed? I thought the Darjeeling Collection had the same cheaper-looking "matte" nameplate on the front as the Signatures. BUT upon closer inspection, it's different (shiny)! |

Yeah the new leather bags still have the nice lining. My Pickwick has the same as the old school LAMB's. Different nameplate inside though. It's pretty! |

just the coated cavas sig bags have the cheaper lining, the all leather should still have the bengeline lining. Also prepare for no more enamel name plates on most of the bags... if not all
