Question Warned not to treat the Kooba Molly -- advice needed!
Hello all!

I just bought the Kooba Molly today at the Saks sale, and the Saks SA told me not to condition or protect the Molly...she said that the leather is too sensitive to do either. I have a Kooba Katy (one of the older leathers) and I treated that w/ Wilson's with no problems. I really would love to protect my new Molly, especially since the leather is so sensitive, and since I bought it in the 'Buff' color.

Has anyone treated any of the newer Kooba leathers with protectant sprays like Wilson's or Appleguard? Any info/advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

I just yesterday treated my pink Kooba Talia with three coats of Wilson's, and it is fine, not change to color or leather at all. In fact I just checked it now.

However I have heard a few voice opinions that the lambskin is delicate and that they wouldn't put anything on it.

As far as my metallics in Kooba or any other brand I NEVER treat them with anything as most a very sensitive, especially to alcohol based products and i could never find out if Wilson's contained any alcohol. Hope this helps.

I have treated all my Koobas (except the finished varieties) with Wilsons and I have never had a problem. I just acquired a new Lucy in Camel. I treated it twice yesterday and I will admit that this is the first time (in 2 years) I ever saw a difference. The spray has made the bag "slightly" darker. But it's all uniform and even and you can't tell if you never knew in the first place. Secondly the bag looks better slightly deepened.
I agree...never use anything on a metallic bag. Don't even get perfume near it.

I'm almost not surprised - the leather of the Molly and Jacinda/Jaylin bags is different than previous years and definitely seems different than even the other current season bags like the Talia.

Thanks for the info, everyone! Now I'm hesitant to keep the Molly as I'm afraid that it will get easily scratched and damaged without the protectant sprays :(. Already, I see that one part of the leather is darker than the rest, and the leather shows creases easily. Would you guys keep a Molly that cannot be treated?
