Default Question about Kooba bag from Rue La La
I bought an Ava bag a couple of weeks ago from Rue La La when they had their Kooba sale. The color is burnished gold, and I noticed when I got it there were a couple of spots around the corners where there were small red marks, almost as if the bag had rubbed against a some red paint. Then, I wore it out last night and there are more red marks on the strap..it seems like the gold is wearing off to reveal red beneath, which doesn't make much sense to me.

Has anyone had a problem with this bag or other Koobas? Is it possible it could be fake? I thought Rue La La was fairly reputable.
Would appreciate any thoughts!

Hi: RueLaLa is most definitely reputable. I wouldn't worry about the bag's authenticity. The issue with the color though I have no idea about as I'm not familiar with the Ava, but...some Kooba bags have had issues with color in the past, such as the Slate bags discoloring, etc.

Hopefully one of the other ladies will be familiar enough to respond. If not, you may want to try Kooba (Corporate, not the online etailer), though that may not be much of a resource.

It's too late to edit my post so let me correct myself here:

They probably will not be much of a resource given their history (if you do a search in the Kooba forum for Customer Service you'll see what I mean).

Hope everything works out!

Hey, I know some ladies here had some trouble getting into contact with Kooba but I found their number through Google and called Kooba directly when I needed some hardware help and they were really responsive.

And i remember they sent a zipper pull or something like that to another tpf member also so hope is not all lost yet!

KBL - what was the hardware problem? Please share - I'm always looking for a positive CS experience to counter balance the many bad ones we've had or heard about.

A stud from my Claudia in Blush was missing on the handle. I know some companies outsource the website to another company so instead of going through Kooba.com I went straight to the source. Googled Kooba NY and got their number. Called them and a lady (can't remember her name) asked me to send her some pictures of the problem in an email and my address so she can "find the matching hardware". One week later I got a envelope in the mail with like 5 of those little rivet things in a plastic bag.

I just took the rivets to a shoe repair and he hammered one of them back on. It wasn't a huge problem because the stud just fell off the handle strap and considering all those tiny rivets on the purse I didn't mind that much. I just wanted to patch up that darn hole.
