I'm thrilled for you! Braedon is my all time favorite. I WISH they would make it again in more colors. I have the black and terraine and will never sell them!

Well, if I read things correctly, ASK KOOBA indicated that the newer leathers were by no means of a lesser quality, but they can handle the color saturations better than the older leathers. But, the older thicker leathers are making a comeback, so maybe we will see something like what we know and love in the not-too-distant future. I still think that Kooba is a trend-setter designer, so maybe they shouldn't follow the masses and do what their loyal customers are begging for. Just my opinion, as I know they are listening.

I agree with you Compass Rose. I have had serious problems with the leathers since they changed but now knowing why they changed I can see why some of the bags of each season had great leather (like Ellie) and others not great (in my opinion). I suppose the color problems with certain colored bags in the older leathers (slate bags, moss Siennas & Nishas, etc) has to do with them not being able to take the color saturation hence the issues with fading/discoloration. I still don't like the 'different' leather and wouldn't pay the same price for them as older Kooba (even if I was attracted to the style - like Jacinda) but do understand why it was used. I don't mind a season that has more refined 'finished' leathers ... as long as they mix in some of the more distressed styles as well.
I think that's part of the beauty of Kooba design.Given what Ask Kooba said about how far in advance the lines are developed I'm going to hold off further complaining on leather until around next spring...or whenever we get further info on when these anniversary bags may come out. In the interim I'll check out the new styles as they are released and hopefully be able to get my hands on some of the ones that appeal to me (like the Liz) to check out the feel of the leather before I decide if I want to purchase or not. Hopefully Nordies will have some as it's the only brick & mortar store near me that carries Kooba. |

I got my Jaylin!!! I'll post pics this evening..Still debating if she's a keeper..is this the 'new leather' you all are talking about? It's shiny..is that a coating? Worried about color transfer too...searching this forum as I write this...I thought at first she was too small but got my necessities fit in nicely w/o being over stuffed...I don't want a big bag for summer anyways b/c it's just too hot lugging around a bigger bag..and I tend to dump more sh*t in my bag the bigger it is...I'm looking at her now..This bag is edgy and slick..I have to say I am a newbie and proud of it..I can see why there are a lot of Kooba lovers here...will start a new thread later..thanx everyone for all your info!!!

Yep, that's the new leather. Supposedly that cost as much as the old leathers. I had an Isabella that is from that line and has the same leather. In just a matter of weeks it started developing darkened blackish spots all over. I actually loved the style of the bag but the leather was awful. I don't think this happened to all of this lines leather but if something happens I would suppose Kooba will say it is Natural leather variations that adds to the "character" of the bag. The shininess and thiness of some of the new Kooba leathers turned me off Kooba big time. I am hoping one day to be revived. I guess we'll see.

Nice Auburn Brynne you have there Lexie. I had it in black (loved it so much but I felt like I could hear the song "born to be wild" when I carried it, lol) a couple times but I really longed for the Auburn color. I love that it is not heavy and hangs similiar to my Elisha. I managed to grab an Auburn Brynne off eBay recently myself (sly I know). I just got my delivery of Wilson's TLC so I will be bathing the baby this weekend.
