Default Kooba interior name plate

Hi everyone,

I have an Elisha and the thread on the piece of leather behind the interior kooba plate has started to come off. I called customer service and she told me that once the thread completely comes off, the leather piece with the metal plate will detach from the bag. I asked about repairs and she said that they will call be back but I was wondering if anyone knew another way of fixing this.

Too bad the search is not up, b/c I recall someone having this problem. I know Kooba is not known for super service either- I hope they give you some options and info. I've never had that happen myself, but if it was my bag and knew I wasn't going to sell it, I think I might give some sort of glue behind the leather tag backing a try to attach it back to the lining.

You might check with the best luggage repair in town to see if they think they can repair it if Kooba leaves you out to dry.

I had an elisha that had the same problem when I received it from ShopBop. You would hope for the amount of money you spend on a Kooba they would fix that. I sent it back.

I had a similar issue with the stitching on the leather surrounding the interior zipper of my smooth black Sienna. Several stitches had come undone and the thread was hanging out like a tail. I took it to a cobbler a friend highly recommended and he repaired it perfectly....and it only cost $6 at this particular shop.

I would definitely seek repairing it on your own rather than waiting on Kooba to respond/do something. Either way, let us know what you chose to do and how it worked out!

Uh-oh. I would also recommend seeking out repair from a local leather shop. I'd bet money on the fact that you never hear from Kooba again. Sad, isn't it?

I wish Kooba offered a repair service. I had Coach bags years ago and they repaired loose threads and even cleaned up your bag. I am not sure if they still do but I thought it was great.

Hi y'all...I'm a Kooba Newbie, and I'm ashamed to admit I didn't even know they existed until a few weeks ago. I'm more of a lower-end Dooney/Coach kind of girl... :)
Anyway, I found a Kooba in a resale shop (where I have found Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Vuitton, etc...) This has a fabric Kooba interior tag, lined in brightly colored stripes. It is a high quality bag, but I'm not convinced it's real. It's a teal colored, "croc" leather style and I can't find any quite like it to compare. I read somewhere that the older Koobas have fabric (not metal) tags. Any help would be appreciated!

If you could post pictures on the authenticate this kooba thread that would be great. I have also recently learned that the very early Kooba bags had different linings. I am sure the ladies would be glad to take a look at it.

It's very real and there are probably 4 or 5 designs done in that style leather. There are also different colors of the Kooba Croc bags. Pink, Blue, and brown. It's a Vintage Kooba and they were not faked and all the rules of authenticity don't apply. Here's a Brown one in a similar style.
