Help. All these brown shades of Kooba have me totally dizzy.
For starters, what's the difference in a "TOFFEE" vs a "COGNAC" in the Marcelle? Is one more red? More yellow? More dark? More neutral? Which is "nicer"?? Really appreciate the help!!! Thanks so much. Marianne |

The Toffee is deeper and has a definite hint of redness in it. It's more of a flat color where the Cognac Marcelle has a more Light Golden Borwn with a hint of a gleem to it. Marcelles are hard to find because there are alot of fake ones and Cognac being the hardest to find of all. Out of the 2 I prefer the Cognac but I sold mine years ago because I didn't like the long tassles and bows. Made it to girly for me.

Toffee is a bit more red whereas cognac is a bit more orange. It's personal taste as to which is nicer. I preferred the toffee. Do these pictures help?

Hi Marianne, welcome to the Forum!!
Like Lexie said, the Toffee is darker and has more red than the Cognac.. I much prefer Cognac myself and have a Marcelle I'll never get rid of..let me see if I can find a pic.. ![]() ![]() Anybody got some of the Toffee to compare? |

Oh.... gorgeous bag Maggie. I think it boils down to which color fits one's wardrobe. If I'm truthful, neither the toffee nor cognac worked for me, so I moved onto the desert Marcelle, which is more my color - all down to personal tastes!
It's good to see a bunch of Marcelles again. |

I once had a Cognac Marcelle but I sold it because the colour was too flat for the style IMO..
I agree with Mini about the Desert colour. The Desert leather has a beautiful texture to it which ages nicely. It really suits the design of the Marcelle. ![]()

Aw shucks - this brings a tear of joy to my eyes....
These wonderful beautiful old vintage Koobas - sigh....don't even get me started.....![]() I had 'em all - cognac, toffee, desert, luggage - boy oh boy. I have to say this: I think that cognac was lovely. It did scratch easily. The toffee was stunning as well, and yes, it had a hint of a reddish undertone. Quite lovely. The desert was the shortest-lived for me. It didn't quite have the "fire" that the other colors had. I found it to be a little bit drab and G-d help you if you if you got a stain on it....it looked the dirtiest the fastest. The luggage color was the original brown. It was sort of a pre-cognac color. All those beautiful Marcelles.... Thanks for the trip down memory lane!!!! ![]()
