Default Jacinda or Elisha?

Sadly, I do not love the Carlos Falchi I ordered from Zappo's and am now back on the trail for a summer bag....

I was in Nordstrom's today and "tried on" the Elisha. I liked it a lot. My husband, whose fashion advice is 100% on target and knows my taste well, says that he thinks I'll like it for a while and then get tired of it. Hearing that was like the kiss of death for me! Ack! But it's still in the running. Who can resist the sash?

I also like the Jacinda, but am concerned about the reviewers here who did not like the leather. Is this still a concern for you Jacinda owners, now that you've had the bag for a while? For me the Jacinda has a slight edge as I'm looking for a more casual bag.

Thanks!

I've actually come to love my Jacinda. I had it conditioned and the color is richer, shinier and more even. By far, Jacinda gets the most compliments when I wear it. IMO Elisha is a more cutsy/girly style whereas Jacinda is more rugged (atleast the brown one is). I looked at Elisha and ultimately decided on Jacinda because I liked the belt detailing as opposed to the tie. One advantage to Elisha is that is looks like it might carry more. If I stuff too much into Jacinda she bulges kind of funny (she looks pregnant). Hope this helps you in your choice.

kmh1190, what did you condition your bag with? I've just received my Jacinda and the brown could do with a bit of 'richening' up!

I had my friend's husband take a look at Jacinda because the leather was so dull and spotted when I first got her from NM online. He refurbishes/reconditions saddles and told me just to buy any old leather conditioner and give her a good buff. So I used Kiwi leather lotion that I bought at Target. Now I have Apple leather conditioner and I prefer it because it is less sticky than Kiwi. But Kiwi (found in the shoe care section) seemed to work fine.

I also used a Saddle Soap until The woman who works at LovinMyBags had to restore my bag. A handbags leather is much more delicate than Saddle leather (think how tough it is) and she says it changes the PH in your leather and ruins a bag. I threw it away and got conditioners made for fine leather products only. I know your friend's husband was trying to help but leather is just not any leather. I'd suggest you look over at http://lovinmybags.com and see their products.

Believe me Lexie, I've played with saddle soap before and it is not a good thing. I "messed up" my new black Tano Cooped up with saddle soap. It leached out some of the black dye and aged a brand new bag beyond its years. Plus it left this dull, nasty, waxy build up. Why did I do this? I was trying to protect my bag from the elements. SADDLE SOAP=BAD.

Oh wow - I just conditioned my Jacinda and it looks beautiful! Nice and soft and the colour is definitely richer. Thanks!
