My husband and I were having dinner in Venice, FL, last night, and so we took a walk down historic Venice after dinner. There are a few streets with cute shops there, and one of them carries the Brighton line. It was after 9 o'clock, so I couldn't get into the store, but right in the window was the Elisha bag, but it was a Brighton. It had the Elisha bow, and the Elisha half-moon hardware on the straps, but it had the Brighton heart fob on it. The only other difference was that right down the middle of the bag there was some whip-type stitching to make it more Brighton-ey. I wanted to see how much it was, but I couldn't. The bag was an off-white color, but I couldn't believe that Brighton had so blatantly copied the Elisha.

Are you talking about this handbag? I went to the Brighton site to investigate. Lots of "inspired by" bags on there.

Yes! That exact bag, only in an off white. I did admire it from afar because the store was closed, but I was dissapointed to know that Brighton couldn't come up with one of their own designs. i couldn't tell what the price was, but I am sure it is the same as on the internet.

That's really cute. Never heard of Brighton. Is their leather as nice as Kooba's?

Brighton's been around for a very long time. They have their own kind of look, and they usually have their own brick and mortar store, but they are sold in some boutiques, too. Their leather is not exactly smoochy, but rather stiff and structured. And, they are nice, but I was wondering why they would copy Kooba.

I know! I like the Kooba Elisha better, but I don't know if I want to buy one from their online store. Their customer service is blah!

I'm not a Brighton fan at all. This bag isn't nearly as cool as the Elisha. Course I'm an Elisha owner and therefore, prejudiced.
