Ask Kooba -

What type of leather cleaner do you recommend for the Brynne? I purchased one from E-bay and there are a few spots on the bag. There not really noticeable but I would like to try to remove them.

Thanks!

Are there any plans to bring the Ellie back in the same yummy crackle leather or perhaps other new colors/leather styles?
Hi KoobaMe,
There are no current plans to bring back that exact style in the next couple of seasons, however, we will be introducing a couple of new styles that will have that same leather in the Fall. They will be in a great aubergine (purple), dark green and cognac. We absolutely love this leather too!

I purchased the Ariel Sand from a small boutique. I have used the bag carefully for 2 weeks. I even put it in the dust protector during the day while I am at work so it doesn't get scratched in my drawer. I am so disappointed to say that the leather and the finish has rubbed off all 4 corners (no feet on the bottom) as well as the buckle areas that rub against my side while I am walking. I checked carefully to see if the dye from my clothes rubbed off ,but the leather ITSELF has rubbed off. Then imagine my dismay at trying to contact your corporate office only to get your unfriendly on line store and some dippy girl who does your PR. I have never heard of company that only takes PR calls and has no corporate number or general customer service number...how convenient. I only found this link to you by visiting the purse forum. What kind of company has no website for consumers.?? Oh...and I was also told by the PR girl to call Bloomingdales who would help me. Why would Bloomingdales help me...they didn't even sell me the bag! I have no faith in your company, no faith in your product, and will continue to buy Coach and Michael Kors and Lulu Guiness. I have a pure ivory coach ergo bag that hasn't a scuff on it. I am so disappointed in your company. Please turn this experience into something positive!
Hi stylebox,
I am so sorry that you've had such a hard time getting help on your Ariel in sand. We currently do have a website for consumers, but because we don't have our own stores, our customer service is managed mostly by the stores that buy our product. I'm sure that's why our PR team told you to talk to Bloomingdales, however, that's not where you bought the bag, so that was certainly incorrect information.
I understand that you've brought the Ariel back to the place where you bought it, as the store has sent it back to Ada. As with all specific customer service questions on this blog, we would like to handle this offline with you. Ada contacted you today to resolve this with you.
For all the Purse Forum ladies, please, in the future, do not contact our PR Agency for customer service inquiries. They do not have the expertise or training to manage customer service questions. If you bought your bag online, please use the customer service number listed on the website. If you purchase the bag through a store, please inquire with them first how to proceed. The stores usually contact us directly and we resolve issues that way. Thank you so much for understanding.

She took it out today, loaded it up, carried it to work, where for the most part if sat on her desk untouched. By the time she got home, she noticed that in a few areas, the metallic finish had come off. She sent me an email this evening very upset, feels that this shouldn't happen to an expensive Kooba bag like this. So ... can you fix it for her, give her a replacement bag and tell her how to prevent it from happening again, or at least give her a credit towards another bag? Needless to say, I feel really awful that I sent her something that did this so quickly. I've read here that some other people have experienced the same problem. Please tell me who there she should contact. Thanks.
Hi again nunnla,
I understand from Ada that you've been in contact and that she's working with you to resolve the problem. We are waiting to receive the photos of the bag from your friend. Can you please send? We look forward to reviewing the bag and resolving this.

Hi ejbfelton,
Yes, we do handle a lot of these issues privately as this isn't really supposed to be a customer service forum, however, your point is well taken and we hope that when the fourm members get their issues resolved that that post the results. Ada makes a point of getting back to people right away to resolve issues.
In terms of my answers, I will be coming on the Forum once per month to check in and answer as many questions as I can. The next time I will be on will be in June and I usually let everyone know a week in advance.
Hope this helps!

Is there any way to prevent this from occurring? This has never happened to any other leather bag I have and all my other Kooba bags are either patent leather or black.

Thank you.
Hi tehkatt,
Please contact ada@kooba.com about this. She might be able to help you.
Generally, light colored, natural leathers that are not treated tend to patina and change slightly with age and wear.
Thanks.

I have a bad back so I can't carry the big bags any longer . I resisted for a long time but have to face reality.
Any chance making a mini Brynne in the Bonnie size.

Will do. Thanks so much for the above as well as your other responses. I know they are very much appreciated! I'll look forward to the upcoming seasons, especially any 'anniversary' bags.

Ask Kooba:

I just shared these pics in another thread and thought I'd pop them in here too. THANK YOU for bags like my desert Marcelle below. The leather is so wonderfully thick ...the style just WORKS on my boho soul...and even after several years the scent of the leather is so strong I can easily catch it as it sits in the passenger seat of my car or when I open my desk drawer to retrieve something.

How do I care for the amethyst crinkle patent? Does it need leather protector and will it stain if I'm caught out in the rain?

Thank you!
