QUESTION:
Ask Kooba - it's a given that you're going to get loads of comments and questions on older Kooba leather v. some of the leather used in recent seasons but I wanted to ask specifically if there are any plans in the future for a red leather along the lines of the Auburn used for the Brynne/Annie/Keira bags. That particular rich red brown shade, along with the texture of the leather, still has us swooning these many seasons since. I am so picky about reds and that shade was just perfection. The Auburn Brynne especially is a Holy Grail bag to a number of us (myself included) and it's impossible to find one...but a new style with that leather would be tremendous.

I was going to suggest the same, Lexie! Bring back the Kooba Queen! It's a great day...and it's great to see everyone here in this post!
![]() All the Kooba Love is making me want to switch out bags. I'd been carrying my purple Ellie for over a week and finally had to make myself change out for something else recently acquired (IF). Now I'm wanting to grab one of my older babies and proudly carry her around tomorrow. Which one, though? Jillian? Lucy (God, that black leather...), or my beloved desert Marcelle? Oooh....maybe my Chestnut Carla - still the BEST leather scent ever. It's going to be warm tomorrow and the scent really comes out in the car with her sitting on the passenger seat...even after all these years!. ~swoon~ |

ASK KOOBA; Do you think it would be possible to bring back some of those coveted older styles that we have grown to love, i.e., Jillian, Sienna, Marcelle, Ginger, Paige, etc.....in about that era....but maybe with a variation in color of the older leather? I'd kill for a Marcelle today, but I won't buy it on ebay or anywhere else on the net. I'm noticing a lot of my Kooba sidekicks coming back to post in this thread. Yay!!

Welcome to tPF, Ask Kooba! This is definitely a step in the right direction for Kooba. Thank you!
I am equally as thrilled to see this thread filled with so many familiar user names (hey girls!!)!! It's nice to know that even though most of us haven't bought a Kooba in a long time, that we're still here rooting for a comeback. Now the real question: In honor of Ask Kooba joining tPF, shall I carry my black Lucy tomorrow or my cognac Chiara?

Hey, gals! And welcome Kooba! My sentiments exactly concerning our love for the vintage Kooba leather and styles. I've used my black Lucy for the last few days and the love is still there. Nisha was toted around most of last week and I'm switching out to Renee tomorrow. Vintage Koobas are my first true love.....

How about a black, studded bag in the Ada-type leather only not quite so heavy??? I would kill for one of those.

Yes, please back the great leathers and dazzling hardware! I came to Kooba late in the game and bought a couple of pebbled Siennas and an Oak Annie from BlueFly, which I still have and dearly love. To be honest though - I'm not feeling your latest endeavors. It would be great to see Kooba reintroduce or update the classics.

Hi! I am a Kooba newbie -- I havent ever experienced the old Kooba leather so I can't compare. So I am probably in the minority when I say that I really love the latest Kooba styles....I am no leather expert so I can't speak to the quality but I find the style/design of the bag to be so fashion forward, unique, cutting edge etc, especially the Rachel (I own -- yay!!!), the Tess (coveting!!!) and the Blake and Jacinda. The bag styles are very funky and I love it. So I say, keep it coming!
Oh I forgot to mention, that I have used my Rachel pretty regularly for a few weeks with no problems at all with quality etc :) |

Hi! I am unable to close my Ali bag because the magnetic closure fell off.
I called customer service who told me to ask the retailer. I called the retailer (internet store) who refused to help. So I called customer service again who told me to email their customer service. I did but I got a stock reply saying that no refunds were allowed. But I didn't ask for a refund...I only want to replace the magnet. Could you please help and tell me what I can do? Thank you so much!! |

camilliepoo: I don't think Koobas really ever had quality issue. It was pretty rare that someone found a defect on the bags. Most seemed to be things like a zipper pulls that fell off and a couple with studs that went missing (on bags that are not new but four or so years old). It's been more the change in the leather, but everyone is different and I'm glad to see Kooba garner new fans with their latest offerings.
I personally have liked many of the styles in the recent seasons. Some I didn't buy because I felt the leather quality had changed so much that it wasn't worth the price. Some, but not all. It seems like some bags were thinner and less substantial and some...like the Rachel and Ellie....have great leather. I love my purple Ellie. The anthracite Rachel just arrived and I think the crackle black leather is excellent. P.S. What color is your Rachel? Pics, girl. Pics!
