I know I don't post here but I happened to be cruising some SFs, and started looking at some of the gorgeous Kooba bags when I came upon this thread. Before you purchase any LMB cleanser, please speak to Barbara. I only use her products to clean, condition and protect my bags but depending on the finish, without her advice, even though the LMB products are IMHO the best I've used, there still could be some unexpected results. I am not a shareholder, I have no vested interest in LMB nor am I a salesperson. I have used other products and found that for my needs, LMB were the best. Not to mention that Barbara and Gary stand behind their products and can explain exactly what you need and how to use the products.
If it is soil, grease, transfer from dark indigo, or an unknown substance, better take photos and email LMB to ask for advice.
I'm speaking from recent experience. I thought I was using the correct LMB product to clean my bag but when I tested it, some of the dye began to come off on the cloth. I stopped and emailed LMB for advice.
Fortunately, Barbara was able to help me before I totally wrecked another brand's bag that was aninline dyed. I had no idea how to take care of this type of leather, or that the bag was made from it, since it wasn't listed on the designer's website and I made an assumption based on what I thought I knew.
So please, if you love your Koobas (and I'm beginning to understand why) and want to protect them..especially light colored ones, email LMB directly and tell Barbara what brand, leather, color and give her some details. She may be able to narrow down the products you purchase so that you buy the right ones for your needs rather than guessing because they are specifically made for leather types and cleaning and protecting needs.
Sorry to infringe upon an SF that I normally don't post on. I do lurk a bit but I'm trying to behave so TPF is a bit of kryptonite for me. Just wanted to offer advice to fellow bag fanatics who love their leather adornments and want to maintain their beauty.
HTH..and thank you for allowing me to guest post on this SF!
