I wasn't planning on getting another bag until next year, but I've managed to swing it as a Christmas present from a family member.

I'd never really looked at Kooba before, but they seem to have some gorgeous, yet beautifully simple designs with a certain edge.

Also like the look of the Brady Tote at LB as well, but will have to resist!

I've emailed them to see if they can ship via USPS instead of UPS to Canada. to avoid the high brokerage fees.

Alright, I really ought to give those pockets a try. I do hate fishing for my change purse and lip balm -- I guess I will try putting them in those outside pockets and see how it works for me. It's a shame I don't use the pockets...lol.

Just realized where I saw this bag in a light brown, Neiman Marcus.

I would love to see them come out with it in some additional colors next year, perhaps a beautiful burgundy or a darker brown.

I received my Kooba Rachel in purple today and I am so dissapointed.

I want a PURPLE bag. This is like a very dark plum. Looks nothing like the picture on Linda's sig. I guess you have to take it out in the sun for that. It is night now so I can't try that. But even under a bright light it just has purple undertones. I want a truly purple bag. Sigh

Awww, so sorry you are disappointed.

Yes, that picture was taken out in the sun and it does look like a much lighter purple in the sun. I found Luna Boston's pic were the closest to it's actual color.

Can you return it?

That was my initial thought when I first saw the pics on LB. I thought, that's n ot purple! Alas, I already have a bag in the dark plum glazed leather so my craving for Rachel is now gone. It's a great bag, but I wish it were more purple than plum.

No I cannot return it except for store credit and there is nothing else I want from what the store has in stock. It is a gorgeous bag, hangs so comfortably from the shoulder. I love everything about it except I wanted a purple bag. I am so sad

Is it the actual color taht you don't love? I know it's not purple-purple, but it's still a lovely dark plum that will go with anything.

If you're not 100% in love, you can always Ebay it :)

Yes, it is only the color that I dont love. Everything else is beautiful. But I can only afford one bag at a time. I would love to have collections like other ladies on TPF and hopefully one day I can. But to keep this bag I have to sell my current bag and I really wanted a purple bag.

What have you got already in dark plum glazed? I'm just curious as I really love the color!

Luckily I first discovered the bag at Luna Boston so I had no illusions about the color going in. I wouldn't have bought it if it were a straight purple, I much prefer a dark plum or an eggplant.

Hmmm, maybe I should switch the picture in my sig line...

ETA: - ok, changed pic in my sig line to one I had that was a bit darker.

Here's my glazed plum Hype Chester Hobo. The leather is very sturdy and has a slight gloss to it. I love it!! I actually forgot I had this bag.
