I am definitely loving this bag. I have gotten numerous compliments on it every single day -- mainly on the color. One of the sales reps at work (a man) even asked me how much I paid for it and said it's a nice bag!! That's crazy.
So for those of you considering a purchase of the Rachel, let me tell you the only thing I do not like about it. I think gypsybiker said this on another thread or maybe it was this one. But it's a bit more narrow at the top than it is at the bottom. From a purely looks perspective I love this -- it makes it look very different and edgy from a lot of other bags that are this style (like the new Coach one - can't remember the name). But the fact that it's more narrow at the top makes it a little difficult to get in and out of this bag. Compared to bags like the Sienna, Elisha, Braeden - I would say the Rachel is less "user-friendly." But - I still love it!! The purple is to die for. My photo really does not do it justice. And now I really REALLY want to get the Laine in anthracite. |

How "shiny" is this bag? I LOVED it from the picture aimala00 posted, but when I googled it it looks a little too shiny for my taste.
Also, besides Bloomingdales, anywhere know where these are sold (in stock)? Thanks! |

They have them online at Nordstrom and at Saks, and there are a couple of other stores if you google it. I think the stock photos make it look a lot more shiny than it is in real life. Also, on Kooba.com they describe it as "crackled' leather. I would call it more glazed.
Let's see, if "regular" leather is a 1 (like, a Kooba Elisha) and patent leather is a 10 (any patent leather bag) then the shiny-factor on my purple Rachel is right in the middle - a 5. I do not really like patent -- it's not my style. I am pretty conservative. And I LOVE my Rachel!! I have gotten at least 2 compliments every day since carrying this bag. Love, love, love! |

They have a large selection at NM. Call my SA, Esther at 508-620-5700. I've posted her name ..she's a doll and really helpful. BTW i saw the Elisha there and fell in love with it!

Okay, I hadn't quite made my decision between the Ellie and the Rachel, but the Rachel sold out at Bloomingdale's yesterday. So I went ahead and placed an order for a Rachel at Luna Boston just now! I hope they don't call me and tell me they are out of stock. I will be sure to post comments and pictures when I get it.
I'm excited - this is my first Kooba, though I've been lusting after them for years. Yay! |

kimmels - yay! I can't wait to hear what you think. Last Friday I had lunch w/ a friend and had my purple Rachel with me. She was lusting over it and I encouraged her to walk around w the bag on after we left the restaurant. She loved it so much she bought one this weekend on evil bay :) But yes they are now sold out at Saks and Nordies. But they still have them online at Kooba.com if for some reason you don't get it at Luna Boston.
Let me know what you think!! |

Oh no! I did notice it was gone on Luna Boston. But Kooba still has it - go for it!
Aimala, that's really funny about your friend on evil-bay - I had actually put in an offer on that Rachel but it wasn't quite high enough. I was nervous about it because I haven't seen a Rachel in person yet, so I'm glad your friend got it! I will definitely post more when I get my Rachel - according to UPS, it should be here Thursday...(but who's counting the days...

I took Koobame's advice and ordered the Rachel about three weeks ago. I'm so glad that I did! I've literally said "I love this bag!" to myself over and over.
As for the narrow opening up top, I've found that it is more difficult to get to the bottom of the bag without opening it all the way up, but just grabbing your phone out of the cell pocket is no problem. Also, I really hate it when bags slip off my shoulder when I wear coats. It's not winter up north yet but I have worn some lighter fall jackets and there's been absolutely no slippage. Get this bag for fall! Perfect size, perfect color - what else could you ask for? |
