Look at this website! This is scary. Take a look at the Lena. It's a pretty darn good fake. They take pride in making Koobas in European leather.

whoa... that is scary. thing is the factory in china might have been actually be making real koobas since kooba bags are made in china. n all they have to do now is to steal and follow the designs n make unlicensed bags without any quality control for themselves to sell to the public directly. it will be a sad day for kooba fans if eBay scammers start selling these, n it gets harder to tell the difference. only safe places to buy koobas from would be the authorised shops then.

Thanks Lexie,

Now I'll be on high alert when it comes to buying a Lena on eBay.

This very well may be an authentic bag, but I've never seen one before. Lexie? Have you ever come across one like this?

Could be but who knows. I didn't add it to my Folder because it wasn't for sure. I'd like to see the Kooba tag inside. The bags we see mostly are from 2004 till now. Kooba started in 98 so who knows what their first bags are. This could be a Rare "Kooba First!"...LOL The rings and leather strap are familiar but I've seen alot of people call bags Kooba on eBay that aren't.

A few years ago, there was a documentary on TV here in the UK, about designer labels and a reason why they are so alike the real thing.

There were certain production facilities, who manufacture the "real" deal during the daytime. The facility would operate a moonlight situation, and a different workforce would come in, use the same materials and produce the same products.

I wish I could remember the details and find some more info. but I cannot remember the intricate detail.

But, it does make you wonder when you see fakes which are almost identical.

Hmm..is it like those factories where they make pickles and stuff like that? I heard that the generic brands are the exact same as the brand names - and made in the same factory, just with a different label. Maybe the fakers took a page from the pickle people?

Holy crap! I just realized they make my ADA woven tote. It looks practically identical!

Thank God I bought mine from Active Endeavors!
Do you think they photograph real ones and try to pass them off as ones they manufacture? You never know, right?

WIth all of these bags there's always something that is off. When I saw that ADa in Woven I knew it was a fake. It just screamed Fake. What might have been harder was the carla but look at the braiding, it's tighter then the Real Kooba Carlas. And why would anyone buy a Kooba and think it is real if the company never even released in that color? Hello,...yellow suede ginger Kooba?

LOL-I saw that last night. Pretty color, dont'cha think?

It might be helpful & educational to list all the actual colors Sienna did come in.
They did do some bright colors, like the burnt orange. But the light blue & gray suede (that people actually bid on), and this blue leather wouldn't be on that list!

What really bothers me about this listing is this fake bag listing seller has perfect feedback and over 200 transactions!

This seller sold a MULBERRY for 119.00 in her completed auctions. And of course it's authentic.
