Default I took a chance and it paid off!

I have been so worried for a month now because I took a chance on a brand new eBay seller. She was listing a black Mahala and I offered her $350 to end the auction early. I don't know what the heck I was thinking when I wasn't positive it was authentic, but I just knew it would be impossible to find a matte black Mahala for anywhere under $800 which is about as high as I ever go with my bags. Anyway, it arrived and it is authentic!I can't believe I purchased a black Mahala for $350! I think I am in shock.

This bag is in great condition for being gently used. It is the perfect size because it's already broken in. It doesn't have any scratches, but it is missing a pull thing. Do you think I could buy one directly from JC or send it off to get one? Anyway, even without it I am very happy with my recent JC additions. Here are some pics. I am about 5"4 for size reference. Please excuse my baggy linen blouse. The last picture is the Mahala with my platinum Maddy.

Was that the one from the UK? I had asked her to do a bin for $350 and she said OK. It took her at least a day to do it. Then when she put the bin on eBay...boom it sold. When I asked her about it she said she thought it was me. Lucky you! I knew it was real! I am glad a tPF'r got it...the older Mahalas did not come with the leather pull on the bottom zipper.

JM- That is so funny. I asked her to do a Buy It Now as soon as it was listed and she agreed for the $319. Then, she came back a day later and said she would do it for $350. That must be because you offered her more and she started feeling guilty. Then, I had buyer's remorse because you said she was acting funny, so I asked if I could have my family (who live in England) meet up with her just to make sure it was authenticate. She was upset with this even though she had previously offered to do that. So, I wasn't going to buy it and then I googled her and realized she was a legitimate fashionista. So, to make a long story even longer she didn't want to sell it to me and then one day wrote to me and said "fine... let's just do this thing".lol I knew with that kind of attitude that the bag had to be authentic. Anyway. I feel bad for giving her a hard time, but am very happy with the outcome.

Thanks Lionlaw!

Muggles - I am going to keep my eyes peeled for you. I am an eBay nut, so I will let you know if anything good comes up.

^^^ Thank you. I needed something good to go my way. I've been dealing with a family member in the hospital since July 4th. So, I just knew that something good was bound to happen sooner or later. Yay!

She did the same thing with me! Acted really funny. Kept saying she would do the bin, then saying she would not end the listing early. Then she emailed me and said OK. That is why I was a little leery about this seller. I really thought the bag might be fake. I kind of gave her a hard time, too...but she kept saying strange things! Anyway, I am glad you got it and that it turned out OK.

Thanks JM. Really, the only reason I knew how to authenticate it is because of all the information that you ladies have given me. I know I posted the link in the authentication thread, but I could tell once she sent me the clear pictures that it was authentic. I was just worried it wasn't her bag and she would do a bait and switch type thing! Anyway, it's so nice of all of you to share your knowledge with us newbies!

Muggles - I will help find you the bag of your dreams at a reasonable price. Half of the fun for me is the thrill of the hunt. Plus, I think I will be saving my money for a bit since the BE fall bags are arriving.

^^^ I would be happy to help. I can find them as they come up on eBay and let you know if I think the selller is legitimate, but you will probably need the help of the wonderful ladies here to authenticate the bags since I am not familiar with those styles.
