Default Hope I Didn't Offend

To all the Choo-aholics at tPF, Sorry if I offended anyone with my remarks on not using your bags. I'm recently new to tPF and after reading everything you all have had to say about your love of JC hand bags, I just assumed everyone was using and enjoying their gorgeous bags . So when I read that so many of you weren't I practically went onto shock! If you could have seen my mouth hanging open you would have . I just want you all to know the joy of carrying the bag and the attention they get is kind of fun too. So please accept my opoligy. I have a question though. A lot of you seem to know each other pretty well... Was that the first you found out that so many of you weren't using your bags or did you already know and I'm just late to the game By the way, I just love these Icons, they're the best. Wish I had ones this good on my email! What I do find amusing is that there are more nuts like me who put them on display when they're new. I even put them on a hanger and hang them from my fireplace mantle when I'm home in the day and then put them away when DH comes home so he doesn't think I'm totally off my rocker. I just like to admire and over them So thanks for listening and again I'm sorry, I have the best of intentions. Nite Nite

Hey no offense taken. I also put my new bags somewhere for the first few days so I can see them when I walk by and admire it. I am actually getting better at using my bags when I get them and if I dont within a month I figure I probably wont and end up selling it. I got my turquoise mahala two days ago and switched over to it and am using it now so it must be a keeper. We should use them and show them off I agree!

No offense either Bichon. There's much love in Chooville. I cracked up when I read many "collectors" out there. I thought I was the only one. j/k Many of us are new to Choo and haven't had time to soak up the atmosphere so I totally understand where they're coming from. I was determined this year I was to get my first Choo. I never knew I would end up with 4 and contemplate on a 5th (sale fiasco). That's alot of Choo to absorb...and almost shocking you don't really know what to do with yourself. Your first instincts is to admire and/or sniff. Afterall, they are GORGEOUS bags. Eventually reality sets in and once you slap yourself silly then you sum up the courage to start carrying them. I am on day 3 with my turquoise but I still love to walk in my closet for a sniff or 2 of the other ones in waiting. I agree with the nuttiness. Nutty here just makes me feel at home though. I enjoy everyone's experiences and I'm glad I can contribute or donate some nuttiness in return. With much ...

No offense taken at all Bichon! In the end you know what? To each his own. While I personally can't wrap my mind around the thing of buying these beautiful bags and then not using them, it's not my call. To some I suppose they're almost like works of art and they don't want the bags to get dirty, damaged, or God forbid stolen.

But I will say that I remember when I bought my first JC. I was so nervous about carrying it, it did take me a few weeks to cut off those tags and use the bag. But once I did.....wow! The very first day I used it (burgundy biker Riki) I got complimented several times on what a beautiful bag it was and it just felt so great carrying it! So to you closet collectors, why not pull out just one bag and start using it?? You'll be so glad you did!

Oh, and I've been around the JC forum for some time Bichon and I was a bit surprised at how many "collector" there were too!

Who was mad at you? We are pretty mellow here in Choo-land. I will be 50 in a couple of months as well so there are two of us old Choo gals here in NorCal.

I wasn't offended. I'll admit prior to joining TPF I would keep my bags in my closet and just admire them but after joining and reading so many posts about enjoying your bag I use mine all the time. I am pretty stingy about bringing my Choos out just because I love them so much and want to keep them looking great.

We are all out buying the Choos you told us about, miss enabler...lol!

But seriously, I use all my Choos. I change bags regularly, usually more often in the summer since I am not wearing a black coat and I like my bag to harmonize with my clothing. I don't understand putting something away and not using it. Maybe it's because I am an old lady and have a better idea of how little time we have . Of course there are special occasion bags that sleep most of the year in their little lilac bags.

So get those bags out and use them, girls...

Hi Bichon.. No offense here at all too.

Although I am one of those who use it right away, I totally understand how it is to love them (Choo) so much they're too precious to be out in the real world. Interestingly, I am way way more careful with my simple (Black Mahala) than my suede Ayse ( hear this Stinker..??) There's more sentimental value with the Black I would say. And sometimes thinking and looking at those purses lined up (regardless of how big or small the collection is) brings in a giggle.

And we are all here for each other to chime in.
