There has been many scary bags in the 2009 winter collection in my opinion. This Mandah is nice though, the price is less nice:

I got a Nordstrom catalogue last week that had a nice pic of the Bardia hobo, and its making me reconsider the bag. The one they showed was crushed patent (not the textured lined calf) and it was the medium size (not the humongous large).
With the wide strap and long shoulder drop it just looks like a really easy bag to wear, and the detailing makes it more interesting than the typical plain hobo... ![]() |

^^This bag is growing on me. I do like the shape a lot and like you said the flat shoulder strap is a huge plus. I like the hardware, too. That is what I have always loved about Choo bags.

Still thinking about the Bardia. Here's a modeling pic from NM:

I love that modeling pic. It really is growing on me too. Seems so functional and more than your average black hobo like Cosmo said. So how big is the exterior pocket if there is one...?

^So which black Bardia do you all like better: the textured calf (as shown in modeling pic above) or the patent?
Here is a closeup of the textured calf: |

This looks great in both. I personally like the textured calf better. Patent is better if you live in a rainy climate tho. My patent Riki is my go to bag when it is raining.

^Thanks for the input. I've been going back and forth, but sorta leaning toward the textured calf. I do want it to be a durable bag in the rain/snow, but I've already got four patent bags in my collection. The textured calf is kind of unique and I'm thinking that it might just be nearly as durable as patent--somewhat similar to the glossy caviar leather on Chanel, if you KWIM. But I might hate it IRL; some members said earlier in this thread that the texture is kind of plastic-y???

^^It is a stiffer leather, but I would not call it plastic-y. I like a bag that does not puddle down to nothing and loose its shape when sitting.
